On the morning of November 16, the award ceremony of the third Shanxi Cultural and creative design competition was held in Zhonglou street, Taiyuan. Wang Aiqin, director of Shanxi Provincial Department of culture and tourism, Ma Jun, member of the Education Working Committee of Shanxi provincial Party committee, member of the Party group and deputy director of Shanxi Provincial Department of education, Jin Honggang, chief economist of Shanxi Provincial Department of industry and information technology, and Zhang Penghui, director of Shanxi Communist Youth League financial media center attended the event. The person in charge of the co organizer, the representatives of the first batch of Shanxi arts and Crafts Master studios, the winners of the competition and the representatives of excellent organization awards participated in the activities.

At the event site, Chen Shaoqing, deputy director of Shanxi Provincial Department of culture and tourism, announced the list of winners of the third Shanxi provincial cultural and creative design competition. Wang Aiqin, Ma Jun, Jin Honggang and Zhang Penghui presented awards to the representatives of gold, silver and copper winning authors and excellent organization awards of the competition respectively. Wang Aiqin announced the opening of the exhibition of winning and shortlisted works of the third Shanxi Cultural and creative design competition.

It is reported that Shanxi Province has successfully held three consecutive cultural and creative design competitions. The influence, attention and specialization of the competition have been significantly improved. It has become a highly recognized brand competition with significant influence in the field of cultural, creative and design. The competition was co sponsored by Shanxi Provincial Department of culture and tourism, Shanxi Provincial Department of education, Shanxi Provincial Department of industry and information technology and Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League. It received more than 3100 cultural and creative works from 28 provinces (municipalities directly under the central government), 89 cities and more than 220 districts and counties across the country, and 125 colleges and universities inside and outside the province participated, Among them, there are many high-quality works with great market development potential and excellent works with the potential to become popular.

The competition has the following characteristics:

First, the collection of works is closer to the market, with special categories such as digital creative design, visual communication creative design, brand and packaging creative design, focusing on the cultural connotation of Shanxi, paying attention to the integration and innovation of “culture + science and technology” and promoting the innovative expression of traditional culture, which is both creative and practical;

Second, the entries have injected new strength. The craft, aesthetics, materials, creativity and cultural connotation presented in the works have broken through the old image of the traditional cultural and creative products of Shanxi Province, showing the integration and symbiosis of traditional culture and fashion, new media and new technology, and reflecting the integration, collision, deconstruction and recasting of tradition and modernity;

Third, it has richer forms of expression, including cultural IP derivatives, expression packs, apps, applets, brand packaging, furniture, toys, home accessories, arts and crafts, illustrations, daily necessities, tourist souvenirs, etc., which have high transformation potential;

Four, the impact of the event is more extensive. More than 500 media reports have been released inside and outside the province. The number of online voting exceeds 1 million 150 thousand, and the official website and WeChat official account have exceeded 160 thousand visitors per day.

After the award ceremony, the participating leaders and guests visited the winning and shortlisted works exhibition of the third Shanxi Cultural and creative design competition, and communicated with some winners to have an in-depth understanding of the creation process and market transformation of the works.

At the event site, Shanxi Provincial Department of culture and tourism awarded plaques to some representatives of 58 units that won the title of the first batch of Shanxi Provincial Arts and Crafts Master studios.
