In 2016 I got my first job in the cannabis space with True Healing Collective.

At the age of twenty I was working with local artists and delivering high-quality, tested medication to the people of the Oakland/ East Bay area, I loved my job and decided that this is what I want to work on. After working as an assistant manager and front-end delivery driver for eighty plus hours in multiple deliveries for close to two years, I learnt all the ins-and-outs of running a delivery. Here’s some of the brands I worked with and some sample design-work.

In 2017, a couple friends and I, received $100K from an angel investor to start our own delivery with a fully-functional recording studio. After taking a minimum salary and equity in the company, we started building everything from scratch. I did it all. From taking calls, running deliveries, creating automation, improving marketing, meeting with vendors, to even sweeping the floor. I was so driven that I even went out of my way to contract and build a basic de-centralized cannabis Point of Sales and Inventory-Tracking platform. I was hungry, I skipped birthdays, family vacations, and holidays in dreams of a brighter future.

That’s when I learned the value of a contract and putting personal health first. Although I put in more work than was asked, my business partners assumed because they were a couple years “older” they knew how to run businesses better. I learned that while I was putting my blood, sweat, and tears doing most of the front-end work, these same partners were cutting corners by sourcing moldy, pesticide and insect-filled medicine. Around then, there was a split in the business and the partners diverged into two different brands.

With promises of change, I funneled all my time into these deliveries. It was then I offered the idea of “tokenizing” our communities, establishing our online presence, and releasing our studio-produced content on the blockchain. But I was seeing too far into the future, and was labeled “crazy” by my partners for even bringing up such an idea. By the end of the run, one of the businesses dissolved and the other turned into a MLM recruiting tool targeting underprivileged youth with promises of fast cash, at which point I stepped out.

Disheartened with the trajectory of the businesses I had help start and put years into I saw how they turned to a profit-over-people model and how it overall affected the business. I took a break and headed to Toronto in search of further spiritual training in Tao Field Healing, learning from pioneers in new modalities of healing, including the ex-President of Simmens. Soon after I learnt the ancient practice of kriya yog, or alchemical breathwork. It’s here where I went from just helping creatives, to being a Creator. As a perfectionist, doubt crippled me for years but I realized you gotta T.R.A.P. or Take Risks And Prosper. It’s here where I recorded my first song and fourth NFT, “Way 2 Long”, now on Audius:

I created @510consciousconsulting as a way to channel everything I learned about holistic healing into the alternative medicine industry. When I got back to the Bay, I turned toward consulting in the cannabis space and our team was working with some of the biggest brands in the industry. From graphic design, sales & marketing, metrics & business strategy, we handled a variety of business services for the market.

As we worked with various brands in different states, from multi-million dollar operations, craft extractors & processors, as well as industry-awarded deliveries and dispensaries, I came to realize the barriers to entry when it came to small growers and BIPOC-individuals who wanted to join the recreational industry.

As more legislation passed, it started driving those that care for the plant out the industry and once again started putting profit over the people The need for proper community healing encouraged me to continue advocacy on breakthrough healing that entheogenic plants have toward mental health, as well as continue my spiritual training creating the basis for my 5th NFT, T.A.O. Tech:

Being an active member in Decriminalize Nature and OCHI, organizations leading the democratization of community healing throughout the U.S., I see the growing need in community tooling for governance in the space to help create highly-autonomous, permission-less systems centered around global ESG metrics. One of our tenets at 5-Dee is to remove the barriers and gatekeepers to allow entry for BIPOC individuals, we aim to do that at $HASH while maximizing overall efficiency of the supply chain and DeFi protocols. Highly Autonomous Systems of Horticulture, or HASH DAO, aims to create trust-less systems of Web3 tooling for the cannabis and psychedelic space starting with a $PLANT treasury. The pre-seed will go towards acquiring and renovating a fully-integrated living-soil farm and nursery.
