Deep within the forests of planet Earth, strange phenomenon were reported from as far back as humans could remember, often the foundation for mythology, folklore and haunting tales told to children to keep them away.

These stories were often correlated inter-culturally, across continents and countries, with similarities considered beyond coincidence. The presence of these stories was considered proof of a spiritual world that existed before the age of civilization and beyond our human understanding.

However, it is almost certain that those stories originated from both the spirits of dead ancestors and from the increasingly understood realm of extraterrestrial beings on missions visiting from far away galaxies. Millions of investigations at the end of the Anthropocene conflated in horrific recounts which had the effect on some humans of dropping dead from heart failure on the spot.

The rapidly increasing rate of these forest phenomenon were considered by Western civilisations as an existential threat, yet related to by First Nations communities as simply a more substantial presence that had been gradually occurring over hundreds of thousands of years, as depicted in their paintings and oral stories. As humanity's technology advanced so did its ability to understand what was happening in the wilderness around them, but still there remained a great divide between modern science and indigenous wisdom.

A picture taken by the crew of NASA's Mars Rover shows a mysterious form close to the landing vessel, a luminescent triangular shaped object also often observed in the recounts from humans who had ventured into these deep and often remote forest landscapes back on earth.

The many sightings were quickly recorded and shared via social media platforms, allowing scientists and governments to begin to understand what was happening out in the wilderness. They had been recording and collecting data for decades about the deep forests and their mysterious inhabitants, but this time it felt different.

For many brave souls who struck out to record these phenomenon in the forests on earth, thick with ancient trees, moss and a myriad of insects, they returned empty handed and bereft of anything more than head cold and a boring string of unremarkable photographs. It was as though these forests were sentient in their own right and keeping humans away from what truly lay at the core of the harbour.

It was not long after that all of the sightings stopped as suddenly as they began. Whether it was due to the government's intervention or something else was never clear. Those sightings explained as magical or of cultural essence such as faeries or folk amongst those who lived with proximity to the forests seemed to differ markedly from those which were described as fully surround presence, full body awareness, terrifying and shocking. This was confirmed by the various recordings available online via the Internet, some of which were later retracted and removed from public view. There have been no new sightings for a long period of time, yet the governments of earth remained silent on the matter and it became a thing of fear and mystery, spurring a kind of cultish fascination.

Humans cutting firewood or hiking through the more accessible areas of these forests often reported 'shimmer' events, where the ambient light through the trees suddenly dimmed or where trees took on human like forms, swaying for a brief moment, enough to make the viewer think they were under observation. Some witnesses even reported these creatures looking back at them, but human authorities only later dismissed these reports as reflections, sunlight shifts from overhead clouds or other concepts. It was unclear if the phenomenon was connected somehow to the forest itself or whether it was directly related to the beings living within it.

Several times over as many decades, several botanists reported a UFO shaped space craft landing swiftly in front of them, leaving them transfixed and frozen in fright. The very same phenomenon has been ever since reported across many different continents and hence the graduated awareness that 'visitors' were indeed real and present, leaving the same scorched earth and complex imprints or patterns amongst crops and vegetation. In the early 21st century governments and corporations began to bring down the forests in haste , just as they are doing now - logging them as if with some haste to rid the earth of the last remaining hiding places of these forms.

Teams of workers were sent into log these ancients forms only to return in states of what appeared to be psychotomimetic influence, speaking gibberish, often completely nonsensical accounts of machinery that took on alien features of ghost like echoes or screaming inside their own heads. Reports of people experiencing flashes of their own death became common place as well, seemingly coming true soon after, though the reports of these experiences have changed over the decades.
