As mental health professionals and engineers, we are committed to the ethical practice of designing, developing, and implementing technologies for the advancement of mental health. We recognise the potential for these technologies to improve the lives of individuals and communities, and we take responsibility for ensuring that our work is grounded in ethical principles and standards.

In pursuit of this goal, we adhere to the following code of ethics:

1. We prioritize the well-being and autonomy of individuals using mental health technologies. We strive to create tools and systems that empower individuals to make informed choices about their mental health and that respect their privacy and dignity.

2. We promote transparency and accountability in the development and use of mental health technologies. We strive to clearly communicate the potential benefits and limitations of these technologies, and we take responsibility for any unintended consequences of our work.

3. We prioritise inclusivity and diversity in the design and implementation of mental health technologies. We recognize the unique needs and experiences of individuals from diverse backgrounds, and we strive to create technologies that are accessible and responsive to these needs.

4. We seek to continuously improve the effectiveness and safety of mental health technologies through ongoing research and evaluation. We strive to stay informed about the latest developments in the field and to incorporate new evidence and best practices into our work.

5. We uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in our work. We strive to be ethical, honest, and respectful in all our interactions, and we hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards of the profession.

6. When it involves new technology that have high risk or any potential of causing harm, we would lower the risks using our risk management skills. The potential would also be maximised to the ratio that the risks cause little to no harm before releasing to the public.

7. We use the mental health technology that are updated with suggestions and collaborations with the mental health professionals and other developers in the related fields to ensure that we provide the best experience for our users as possible. We would continue working in the fields such as but not limited to Artificial Intelligence, Web 3, Electroencephalography, Virtual Reality Simulating Therapy, other verified psychological tests and more.

We recognise that the field of mental health engineering is rapidly evolving, and we are committed to adapting and updating this code of ethics as needed to ensure that our work continues to reflect the highest ethical standards.
