The Daily 104: P/S & P/F ratio
April 11th, 2024

One thing I learned today:

I’ve been playing around with toke terminal recently and have seen something interesting such as the P/F ratio.

P/F ratio stands for Price to Fee ratio. Meaning the price of the crypotcurrency compares to the fee. This is a measure of the market value of a cryptocurrency compared to the fees it generates.

P/F fully dilluted: THis measures the total supply of the currency that could ever exist divided by the feesgenerated

P/F Circulating: This measures the supply of the currency in circulation divided by the fees it generates.

Lower P/F ration may signal a currency that is undervalued as it indicates that the protocol is generating high amount of revenue in fees. This could maybe used to measure the profitability of a defi protocol

P/S ratio stands for Price to Sales ratio. This compares the market cap of the currency to the annualized revenue of the protocol. Similarly, if a protocol has a low P/S ratio it may indicate that they are undervalued due to generating high revenue.

TradFi equivalents:

P/E ratio: Price to earnings

P/E ratio in tradfi measures the company’s stock price to its earnings per share. This shows how much investors are willing to pay for a unit of profit.

P/B ratio: Price to book ratio:

This compares a company's stock price to its book value per share. It can indicate if the market values the company more (higher P/B) or less (lower P/B) than its net assets (book value).
