One thing I learned today:
Polygon’s aggregation layer or “AggLayer” was built with the ambition to connect multiple blockchains together. Polygon sees the value in trying to create a seamless user experience when it comes to different blockchains.
Polygon’s goal was to build this aggregated layer to give developers and projects the ability to create new blockchains (App chains) and then also bring developers the opporunity to tap liquidity across multiple blockchains and protocols. Additionally, developers would be able to build protocols and products that can ultimately be used by users across multiple blockchains as well. Solving one of the many problems in the blockchain user experience.
As shown above, until recently blockchains have operated separated and in siloed environments. Which grew the necessity for bridges and various infrastructure to connect them. However, by building an aggregation layer, Polygon hopes to connect these multiple different ecosystems where 1 engine connects and runs them all to roll-up to ethereum.
