Ocean Animal Meetup

We have reached the edge of the forest, and before us lies a vast and boundless ocean! In the marine world of ACE Animals, there are many mysterious creatures. These marine spirits have been dwelling and multiplying here for generations.

They have different levels of conservation status in the real world, ranging from Least Concern (LC), Conservation Dependent (CC), Near Threatened (NT), Vulnerable (VU), Endangered (EN), Critically Endangered (CR), Extinct in the Wild (EW) and even Extinct (EX). If there is not enough data to make an assessment of a species’ risk of extinction, its conservation status will be Data deficient (DD). The conservation status of an animal will not have any influence on its in-game performance.

In ACE Animals, each animal also has corresponding qualities that affect their numerical attributes in the game. The qualities range from low to high and are: N, R, SR, SSR, SP. Animals with higher qualities will bring more benefits and rewards to their friends!

Slo-Mo

Conservation Status: Least Concerned (LC)

Animal Quality: SR

“Let’s heaaad to the beach and soak up sooome sun”

Slo-Mo the New Zealand fur seal shares the same hobby as Chris the Red Panda — sunbathing. The difference is that Slo-Mo prefers a more robust sunbathing session on the coastal rocks. “Let’s head to the beach and soak up some sun,” Slo-Mo greets his companions in this way.

Slo-Mo’s friends were once concerned that his personality might make it challenging for him to survive in the ocean, but it turns out he is no worse off than any other fur seal. “I owe a lot to my friend Ivy,” Slo-Mo says. “She brings good luck, and as long as I stick around her, tasty Lanternfish practically jump into my lap.”

Slo-Mo isn’t much of a talker, but it’s not because he has a speech impediment. “Smart fur seals know how to conserve energy for when it’s most needed.”

Mia

Conservation Status: CRitically endangered (CR)

“Is it edible?”

Mia the Hawksbill sea turtle, comes from a species that once enjoyed great fame in ancient East Asia, but it also brought them some troubles for survival. Fortunately, Mia has not experienced those troubles, and growing up in joy, her biggest hobby is tasting cuisines from around the world. “Is it edible?”

Mia’s favorite activities often revolve around food. Her friendship with Ivy began with a taste test — before Mia could savor the flavor of Ivy, Ivy’s ability to speak convinced Mia that she was not just another piece of seaweed. “Talking seaweed may not be edible, but it can be a friend,” Mia says.

Slo-Mo, Ivy’s friend, is also a favorite playmate of Mia. Despite Slo-Mo’s love for sunbathing, he is adept at finding secluded places where Mia can discover delicious treats she has never tasted before. “Thanks to Slo-Mo, I once had the privilege of trying a unique seaweed that made my mouth sting for a while but was strangely memorable.”

Arion

Conservation Status: Endangered (EN)

Animal Quality: SSR

“ I will find a new place for the tribe to live”

Arion the Knysna seahorse is the pride of the entire community due to his unparalleled talent — the ability to change colors to match his surroundings in the shortest amount of time and seamlessly blend in. “I will find a new place for the tribe to live,” with such ambition, Arion embarks on his oceanic journey.

Estella is Arion’s favorite travel companion. “Arion always seems so burdened, carrying a heavy heart that’s hard to ignore,” Estella says. “Why not have a round of video games on the seabed?” Arion greatly enjoys the carefree moments of play with Estella. “Estella has a magical charisma; he always manages to immerse people in the present,” he adds. Of course, this is the unique charm of video games.

Arion doesn’t like the cold, so he often encounters Estella’s fellow kin on his journey. “They are mostly quite… endearing,” he says. “Easygoing and generous, that’s Estella and his community.”

Madge

Conservation Status: CRitically endangered (CR)

Animal Quality: SP

"Got some rare pearls? Hehehe"

Like Seraphina, Madge the West Indian ocean coelacanth is also one of the most mysterious animal friends in the ocean. Some people claim to have witnessed a fossil embedded in the depths of the seabed shaking, and Madge emerging from it. Others say that their great-great-great-great-great-grandfather once had a good friend named Madge. However, evidently, Madge doesn’t care about these rumors: “Got some rare pearls? Hehehe,” she asks tirelessly when engaging in conversation with her friends.

Madge’s love for pearls seems to be innate, evident from her habitat filled with pearls of various sizes, styles, and colors. Her friends have asked Madge why she is so dedicated to pearls, but she simply says, “Pearls carry the imprints of the ocean’s years.”
