RARI DAO Q3 recap

(originally published here)

Yet another quarter has come to an end! Dive in as we break down all the exciting events that happened in the RARI DAO ecosystem in Q3:

DAO updates

Successful delegate activation

One of our most notable achievements this past quarter was the launch of the Delegate Launchpad. This program was designed to boost new delegates with relevant industry experience, who are still new to the Rarible Protocol ecosystem. We received over 100 applications!

Through this community-approved initiative, 15 successful candidates were delegated a total of 30k veRARI for 6 months, with the amount of delegated tokens gradually declining towards the end of the program period.

At this point, we are almost halfway through the program, and we are happy to share that Delegate Launchpad has significantly improved DAO participation and the number of initiatives brought to the table by the community.

Check out the RARI Foundation forum and Tally page to see how the delegates are voting and their opinions on submitted proposals.

Security Council

To protect our community’s interests, RARI DAO strives to live up to industry-wide security standards and best practices. A big step to protecting the Rarible Protocol infrastructure and its users, the implementation of Security Council was approved.

As RARI DAO governance is maturing, Security Council is a necessary step for the community to take full ownership of the Protocol.

This DAO-appointed 3-member multi-sig will have the ability to perform emergency and non-emergency actions such as urgent upgrades and routine maintenance to the Rarible Protocol, as well as stopping DAO hack attempts.

Rarible Protocol x Arbitrum integration passed the vote

This ongoing project was one of our key initiatives in Q3. We went from the first submission to the Arbitrum DAO to successfully closing the vote on October 2nd!

Coming up next, we will proceed to integrate Arbitrum One, to boost the developers in both our ecosystems. Congratulations to everyone involved!

New marketplace on Rarible Protocol

Governed by RARI DAO, Rarible Protocol is an accessible and easy-to-use infrastructure that was designed to empower communities to go beyond generic NFT marketplaces and do more for their members. We are delighted to see that more and more projects are opting in for their own branded community marketplaces in the Rarible Protocol ecosystem.

As of this September, Rarible Protocol now powers the native marketplace of Mantle L2, Mintle, built by Rarible Inc. Welcome aboard!

Foundation updates

The first partner for $RARI rewards launched

Animoca Brands’ Mocaverse recently joined the $RARI Rewards program as the first participant in the long-awaited second round! A total of 45k $RARI is being distributed to the marketplace’s users who bid on Moca NFTs.

Website refresh

Following a comprehensive upgrade, rari.foundation is now boasting a brand new look and an improved user interface. We answered your most frequently asked questions and made sure that the website more accurately reflects the intrinsic flow of the RARI DAO. Check it out here.

Event highlight

We never miss a chance to get together with our community in person! In July we hosted an in-person meet up at Rarible HQ in New York. Jana Bertram from the RARI Foundation discussed how community shapes the future of NFTs with Alex Salnikov (Rarible), Angela Jung (SheFi) and Dave Krugman (ALLSHIPS.CO)

We had a blast – and it looks like our NY-based community did too!

Another remarkable event: on August 18th Rarible co-founder Alex Salnikov made a speech at ETH Portland on Empowering next-generation consumer apps on L2, talking about Rarible Protocol ecosystem and RARI DAO’s role in its governance.
