Becoming a delegate in a DAO is arguably one of the best ways to contribute to the future of your favorite projects in web3. The idea behind it is simple: token holders who don’t have the time or capacity, or enough tokens to make a difference, delegate their voting power to active community members, who take it upon themselves to make strategic decisions in regards to project’s development and growth.
RARI Foundation is fortunate to have an active community of core contributors with delegates who are shaping the future of the Rarible Protocol ecosystem and drive the complete decentralization of its governance. To successfully support this mission, we need to increase participation and add new voices to the DAO.
This is where the Delegate Launchpad program comes in.
Fast track your DAO contributions
As a new delegate, how can I get voting power? How do I get token holders to delegate their veRARI to me, if I have just joined the DAO?
These are among the most frequent questions asked by prospective delegates. While it is true that token holders prefer to delegate their votes to contributors who have been around for a while, we believe that it shouldn’t stop those who want to make an impact on the ecosystem.
That’s why the community unanimously voted to allocate 30,000 veRARI to 15 eligible delegates, who will each have 2,000 veRARI to vote on proposals in the RARI Foundation during 6 months while the program lasts.
During the first three months, the delegated amount will remain to be the total 2,000 veRARI, unless the recipient breaches the terms outlined below. During the second three months, the amount of delegated veRARI will linearly decrease to 0.
Delegates are expected to demonstrate a track of DAO participation: vote on at least 60% of proposals (in any given 30-day period), provide a rationale in the DAO’s discussion forum on voting decisions, and be, within reason, responsive to the community.

The Delegate Launchpad program enables RARI Foundation to screen qualified applicants for the kind of skills, experience, and motivation the DAO can benefit from in the long run and, at the same time, elevate the new delegates within their communities.
