Metamask is an electronic wallet that uses web 3.0 technologies and cryptographic algorithms to interact with decentralized applications (dApps) establishing a communication channel between them, making it possible for of users to confirm transactions related to the deployment of assets, smart contracts and the purchase of any product or service, in addition to the permissibility of the dynamic generation of a cryptocurrency wallet.

For this reason, Metamask becomes a highly secure alternative to carry out this type of transaction within the blockchain and, in turn, eliminates the intermediaries that can retain your money, such as banks or centralized organizations.

How do I install Metamask?

To install the extension for your browser or mobile device, all you have to do is download it from a verified repository depending on the type of operating system or browser you use, either in Play Store, App Store, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Then, you must click on the option to install and open the application to start with its configuration.

- STEP 1

On the welcome screen you must press the "Get Started" button.

• STEP 2 Then, two options will be enabled on it, you can create a new wallet or import an existing one using the seed words. In case you already have one, you will be able to import your Metamask compatible wallet using these 12 words. If you don't have one yet, you'll need to select the "Create a Wallet" option.

• STEP 3 In the conditions of use of the application, as an important piece of information, it is necessary to know that the development team collects data to improve the experience of the wallet. They let you know that this data you provide is always anonymous and will not be used for commercial purposes. Here you can "Accept" or "Not Accept", either way you can configure your wallet without problems.

• STEP 4 For safe use, it is important to set a password for your wallet, thus mitigating inconveniences related to opening it without your permission. You can configure your password by entering characters in lowercase and uppercase format, as well as special characters and biometric data.

• STEP 5 Once the password is created, Metamask generates your seed phrase, made up of 12 words, which you must keep very carefully on paper or any other secure medium. Metamask does not have a password recovery algorithm or seed phrases, so from now on the care and security of your wallet falls entirely on your hands.

Once the whole process is finished, this is the view that is shown to you for the first time when you open the wallet, showing you the network of ETHEREUM and the amount of total balance you have of your tokens.
