Traffic artery stimulates the vitality of Shenyang City

Since the beginning of this year, Shenyang has made every effort to promote the construction of major transportation infrastructure in accordance with the requirements of livability, green, toughness, wisdom and Humanities and focusing on the improvement of urban quality. Qipanshan tunnel, Shengli Avenue, Lanjun Road, swivel bridge and other projects have been connected one after another, and the Dadi expressway has been completed and opened to traffic. At the same time, five lines under construction, including Metro Line 3, line 4, line 6, the South extension of line 2 and the East extension of line 1, are progressing normally as planned. The phase II PPP project of Expressway and the connection project of Changjiang North Street have carried out preliminary work one after another… The comprehensive bearing capacity of the city has been continuously strengthened.

The road network construction has been continuously improved

In recent years, Shenyang has accelerated the construction of urban expressway project, successively built seven expressways, including North-South Expressway, East first ring expressway and Hunnan Avenue expressway, completed the southward movement of the second ring function, and further formed the “Ring + radiation” expressway system. At the same time, many broken roads and bottleneck roads such as Lingyuan North Street have been opened up, and more than 700 streets and alleys, supporting roads in the community and four river crossing bridges such as xingeng’an bridge have been reconstructed. The road network framework system has been further optimized.

This year, Shenyang will engrave the “people first” in Shenyang’s urban and rural construction, give more prominence to the three-dimensional construction of urban traffic, and speed up the improvement of road network construction to ensure the smooth flow of traffic nodes. On October 23, the swivel bridge of Lanjun Road on Shengli Street took about 90 minutes to successfully swivel, laying the foundation for the completion of the whole line by the end of the year. After the bridge is opened to traffic, the new and old second ring roads will be connected together, which can effectively lead most of the traffic flow in the direction of Tiexi and Yuhong to Hunnan Avenue expressway of the New South Second Ring Road, effectively alleviate the traffic congestion of the South Second Ring Road, complete the connection between the South Second Ring Road and Shengli Avenue and Hunnan Avenue expressway, fully realize the goal of “moving the second ring road to the South” and promote the further development of “both banks of Hunhe River”.

Another “connected” road network this year is the Qipanshan tunnel of the Fourth Ring Road. On August 13, the 2158 meter long Qipanshan tunnel was put into operation, and the road construction and internal decoration in the tunnel continued. It is expected to be completed and opened to traffic before October next year. After the completion of the project, the current situation that the Fourth Ring Expressway has not been closed for 7 years will be ended, and many broken roads will be opened. The driving time of citizens from the urban area to Qipanshan scenic spot will be saved by more than half an hour.

The connection of “arteries” is stimulating the urban vitality of Shenyang. This year’s “11”, starting from the new BMW factory in the West and Mojia toll station in the East, Dadi road Expressway with a total length of 17 kilometers was officially opened to traffic. After the road is opened to traffic, it will take no more than 15 minutes to drive from BMW factory to the third ring road. Its significance is not only to further shorten the space-time distance between the economic development zone and the main city of Shenyang, but also to more effectively promote the integration of industry and city. It is of great strategic significance to support the economic growth of the economic development zone, promote the coordinated development of the region and the external contact channel.

Strive to build a “city on track”

The acceleration of subway construction reflects the people’s livelihood priority and public transport priority of Shenyang municipal Party committee and government, focusing on solving the people’s concept of serving the people who are most concerned about the most direct and realistic interests.

At present, Shenyang has four subway lines in operation, including Metro Line 1, line 2, line 9 phase I and line 10 phase I, with a total operating mileage of 117 kilometers, and has built a “ten + ring” subway operation network. Meanwhile, five subway lines under construction, including line 3, line 4, line 6, South extension line of line 2 and East extension line of line 1, have a mileage of 140 kilometers. By 2025, all lines under construction will be put into operation, with a total mileage of 257 kilometers.

Moreover, in the “14th five year plan” for urban and rural construction and development of Shenyang, it is mentioned that during the “14th five year plan” period, Shenyang will strive to build a national central city, build a modern metropolitan area of Shenyang, create a “one hour commute circle” and build a “City on track”. According to this plan, Shenyang will introduce Metro Line 2 into the airport and timely start the construction of comprehensive transportation transfer center on the east side of T3 terminal and the transformation of T2 terminal. Improve Shenyang International Logistics Port, combine with the construction of China Europe train assembly center, and give full play to the advantages of Shenyang railway comprehensive freight yard and Shenzhen International Highway comprehensive logistics port.
