June 25th, 2022

World’s First Decentralized MMO strategy game

What is League of Kingdoms (LOKA)?

League of Kingdoms is a blockchain-based free-to-play MMO strategy game that was released in July 2020. It is one of the first blockchain MMO strategic games in the world. According to Binance, it has 15,000 concurrent players, 80,000 daily active players, and 400,000 monthly active players. League of Kingdoms provides exciting game content that will appeal to both crypto and mainstream gamers. The project team strives to create a game universe where gamers can interact and have fun while maximizing their digital assets, abilities, and playtime.

League of Kingdoms' primary gameplay is comparable to a traditional RTS game (Real-time strategy) such as Warcraft and Age of Empires. Nonetheless, it is based on blockchain technology, and ownership is key to the game's core concepts. As an alliance-based tactical strategy game, players can build kingdoms, earn resources, raise & strengthen your army, form alliances, and compete with other players on the battlefields. All the lands in the game are non-fungible tokens and can be owned by users.

Players can dive right into the game without spending a single penny to start getting some profit. With the presence of the LOKA token, the player-base has been growing to effectively own, propose, vote, and start earning some money. $LOKA is the League of Kingdoms' governance token and will be used as the currency of the League of Kingdoms game and will be used for all in-game store purchases, such as purchasing crystals, VIP privileges, monthly subscriptions to boosts, and more resources to help you develop your kingdom.

Game Highlights:

  • Free to play - You could start as a guest if you want to try out the game, and then later on, if you are still interested, register an account and link your Metamask wallet.
  • Available on mobile or desktop – The game is available for mobiles or on your desktop through a Web browser.
  • Familiar genre – The game is familiar to titles such as Rise of Kingdoms and Clash of Clans.
  • Many ways to play and earn – There are a variety of ways to start earning money even without investments.
  • Easy to play – The game is relatively easy to play for those casual gamers and even for those new to the genre.

Gameplay:

League of kingdoms offers different game modes for players, namely PvE, PvP, and MMO modes. These three provide variety and immersive experiences. The blockchain NFT technology also enables the players to own game assets and properties, which will help players capitalize on their investment and time spent in the game.

The quests give you rewards such as resources and boost to help you progress your kingdom more quickly. There are also daily quests, so you can get more of those boosts, and the resources you need. Some events give more rewards than the first two for completing them. You can also go out to the field to find resources, fight enemies for rewards, and even fight other players’ kingdoms.

How do I start earning money?

The primary way you can earn money is to mint your resources and sell them to the marketplace. You need to be at least level 20 or higher to start, which is a bit of a grind but shouldn’t be too hard. Minting your resources is capped at 1,000,000 minimum and the max at 10,000,000. The resources are relatively easy to get, but it will take time to save up. You could also earn money by owning lands. When you own land, the players who harvest resources in your land give you 5% of what they got, and you also receive 10% of the profits from in-game purchases in DAI. In addition, you could also trade your land for another land within the game.

The game itself is like Rise of Kingdoms but P2E. It is a pretty grind heavy game because of how it relies on time. The game rewards those who play it daily in short sessions, making the game suitable for those who cannot play for long and is even more convenient because you can play on mobile. The grind heavy process can be circumvented by using boosts which are rewarded to you in quests so that you could progress faster in the game. It is not a hard game to play for people new to the genre and could even be seen as easy for those who have played similar titles.

To sum it up, it’s a good game for those interested in the MMO Strategy genre. Although it is not an action-packed game, The feeling of progressing through the game makes it almost like a chill, idle game. The game has few performance problems on my end, even with a standard PC setup. However, The game is simple; it doesn’t try to make it more complicated than it should be, making the issues bearable. There is a solid and intuitive P2E system, and it’s free-to-play. Accessible whether via mobile or your standard Web browser. It’s worth a try, as it is a game where you can do something else while playing and still earn money.
