Background

Since the circulation of NFT, there have been many incidents of theft. These incidents are mainly caused by private key theft and phishing attacks, and in the existing cases, it is difficult to recover once stolen. Most recovered cases also require a second offer from the stolen person, which is very costly. We propose a universal technical solution to be adapted to any ERC721 standard smart contract to help NFT holders guard their property security jointly.

ERC721G

BigBrother

To cooperate with the ERC721G anti-theft contract to play an effective role, we have launched a set of risk control system: BigBrother. The BigBrother risk control system is an NFT anti-theft protection solution with multi-dimensional analysis and optimistic consensus voting mechanism. It helps NFT holders protect property safety through pre-protection, mid-blocking, and post-compensation. The system has three main parts: operation and maintenance strategy management, intelligent risk analysis, and real-time monitoring of changes.

Pre-protection

• Provides multiple protection strategies: it must be unlocked on the BigBrother main site before it can be transferred or traded. The verification and unlocking adopt a 2-step verification + retrieval mechanism. For example, the holder must receive a verification code or 2FA through an email or mobile phone for two-step verification. At the same time, it also provides NFT holders with a question/answer process to retrieve their passwords.
• Multiple whitelist protection strategy: provide a friend's or own trusted wallet address and use the address to assist in authentication when needed.
• Unlocking strategy: When the protected token is about to transfer, trade, or setApprovalForAll (generally for listing sales, prior transfer permission is required), it needs to be unlocked in the BigBrother first. The first transaction is valid if the recipient does not register the wallet address on the BigBrother main site in advance. However, after the receiver receives the token, the token is in a lock state by default. The next transfer and transaction must be registered with the main site and unlocked before continuing. In this process, the background system will supervise the whole process and make risk prevention in advance.

Usually protected NFTs cannot be transferred without unlocking them. This benefits from the design of the protection mechanism for prevention and control in advance. However, when the user's wallet and the defense line of two-factor authentication are broken, more powerful measures are needed to solve the security problem, so we propose the BigBrother risk control system. BigBrother risk control system is an analysis engine with multi-dimensional analysis and optimistic consensus voting mechanism. Three core designs of real-time data analysis, AI risk control model and dynamic risk control perception are adopted. The main responsibilities of the system are:

• Identify who is the actual owner of the NFT
• Identify risky NFT transfers
• Take correct risk actions such as blocking or recalling

Post-incident benefits

The details of the post-incident benefits system will be released according to user needs, mainly including:

1. For the tokens that cannot be recalled, the equivalent floor price will be paid
2. Pay damages for misjudgment
3. Insurance mechanism
