1. Market Data & Analysis 💹

OneLand 7-day data shows land market caps for the 10 metaverse projects on OneLand up a significant 14%, in USD, to exceed $1.46 billion. A 16.6% rally in the price of ETH (total crypto market cap +7.85%) was the cause, with aggregate land cap in ETH terms in fact down 2.3%. ETH was not the only solid weekly performer, with most crypto, including metaverse=based tokens SAND (+15.8%), MANA (+ 8%), CUBE (+9.4%) and WRLD (+27.5%), all bouncing back.

Aggregated trading volume was up nearly 3% for the week and, this time round, can not simply be attributed to Otherside, as land cap (-6.1%) and trading volume of Otherdeeds (-18.6%) slid for the week. A top sale of just 17.5 ETH surely contributed.

It may even be that ETH’s rally sparked some FOMO-ing traders in OG projects Decentraland and The Sandbox into action — weekly trading volumes were up by 57% and 33% respectively — but also Worldwide Webb (+25%) and BYOPills (+63%). Currently, Decentraland is gearing up for its second annual Metaverse Music Festival, taking place 10–13 Nov (in which OneLand will be participating) while The Sandbox concludes its 10-week long Alpha Season 3 (don’t forget to check our upcoming October monthly report for a performance comparison with AlphaS1 and 2).

Over at NFT Worlds’, where the dev team power forward with their new game, its pricing has corrected a little over recent weeks to return near 1 ETH, after hitting as low as 0.73 on Sep 10. That is still a far cry from the 3.72 ETH ($5,840) prior to July 20 when Microsoft banned NFTs from Minecraft and forced NFT Worlds’ pivot, while trading volumes remain low, down 23% for the week) as the community waits and watches while in a bear market. However, with a Beta on its way, a blockchain gaming integration, upcoming Game Jam and a little more marketing at play, it will be interesting to witness the coming months.

Trading and price action at Worldwide Webb has been lackluster, but October has been a better month than September for the NFT integration superstar. Trading volume and sales numbers improved 24.8% and 50% for the week, as the project released news that come the end of the week (Halloween), its Alpha would open for all players! Elon Musk finally purchased Twitter for $44 billion, with former boss Parag Agrawal and other top executives reportedly fired. Turning up for his first day at work, Elon wanted to “let that sink in”.

Meanwhile, the company revealed a set of NFT trading tools allowing collectors to showcase their NFTs and link to marketplaces all with the convenience of a single tweet.

Apple

• Oct 24

Apple updated its AppStore Review Guidelines to prohibit the use of NFTs to bypass the company’s in-app purchase mechanism. Apps can allow users to view their NFTs, as long as NFT ownership does not unlock features or utility in the app.

SEBA Bank

• Oct 26

Top crypto custody firm in Switzerland, SEBA Bank, announced a new custodial service specifically for blue-chip NFTs like Bored Apes or CryptoPunks.

MyNFT

• Oct 27

NFT marketplace MyNFT announced it will present Europe’s first NFT vending machine next week at the NFT.London conference.

South Korea

• Oct 27

Only two of five witnesses showed up to testify at hearings by South Korea’s National Assembly into recent failures in the crypto industry, notably the crash of US Terra. Coindesk Korea reported several lawmakers called for charges to be brought against the no-shows.

The Sandbox

Gucci Vault Land opened in The Sandbox, the unique digital landscape offering a curation of rare Gucci pieces, dialogues with creators and digital collectibles to purchase. Owners of Gucci Vault NFTs, such as SUPERGUCCI or Gucci Grail NFTs, will get airdropped a Gucci Vault Aura collectible.

Crypto House Capital announced that phygital skyscraper project Skylum will soon launch its pre-sale of virtual apartments in Decentraland and The Sandbox. NFT holders get access to terrace-level relaxation facilities, roof-top panoramic views and a chance to win a physical apartment.
