FRANCE — Apr 11: France’s government launched a public consultation on the Metaverse, with the aim to offer “an alternative to the virtual immersive universes [of] international giants”. President Macron has previously talked up the idea of a European metaverse. Learn more.
THAILAND — Till Apr 30: Thailand’s Tourism Authority launched a second season of its NFT campaign. In all, 24k tokens can be collected at 20 tourist attractions until Apr 30, earning various perks for tourists.
a16z — Apr 11: Famous Web3-focused VC a16z published its annual State of Crypto Report, which shows adoption is outpacing price performance. Key takeaways:

a16z also released a State of Crypto Index based on 14 metrics to track the market health.
RAZER — Apr 11: Gaming hardware giant Razer will fund up to 36 Web3 gaming projects, incl. mobile games, through its new zVentures Web3 Incubator (ZW3I).
ETHEREUM — Apr 12: The Shanghai hard fork (aka Shapella) went live, enabling users to unstake their ETH after more than 2 years, and claim staking rewards.
So how’d it go? Contrary to mass conjecture that enabling withdrawals would trigger a sell-off, the fork sparked a mass rally, $ETH ending the week up 18.11% at $2,120.

SOLANA — Apr 14: Solana announced in a livestream its new crypto Android smartphone Saga is available for pre-order. The phone serves as a crypto hardware wallet and comes with a custom dApp store. $SOL’s price jumped on the news.
DAPP RADAR <> PACIFIC META: Apr 14: A DappRadar study conducted with Japanese crypto firm Pacific Meta found that Asia has 55% of the global gaming population (1.7b players) and is bound to dominate the Web3 gaming market.
