1. Market Data & Analysis

This week, Otherside maintained its upward momentum. The new metaverse (still far away from a real launch, of course) is up another 8.22% on last week, hitting yet another new top of $1.3bn. Decentraland also had a good week, its market cap increasing a healthy 5.53%.

Meanwhile, OneLand’s heatmap shows other projects experiencing dips in total land value. Event-filled weeks for both Somnium Space and The Sandbox in particular appear to have done little to rekindle investor sentiment.

In any case, new listings on Pastel Island and the $FOLK airdrop returned some attention to Voxels. The airdrop intended to help fuel a new tipping mechanism. Voxel’s trading volume and average parcel price both rose by 69.3% and 100% respectively this week.

This week, Decentraland performed well across several key data points. The Game Jam which kicked off on May 17 seems to have been the trigger that grabbed players’ attention. On the same day, Estate 4891 sold on Decentraland’s marketplace for 105.31 ETH in its highest-priced transaction since March 10, while the floor price was up 65% for the week.

The Missing Parts NFT collection was listed in The Sandbox Marketplace. It includes flying buses and flying robots.

The Sandbox acquired the Uruguayan company Cualit.

Cualit is a full-stack development firm experienced in gaming. Cualit will become The Sandbox Uruguay, expanding The Sandbox global team and accelerating growth of its metaverse ecosystem.

The airdrop intended to help fuel a new tipping mechanism. A snapshot was taken on May 9 of all parcel and costume holders on the platform, each of whom will receive a portion of the delicious new coin coming their way.

RLTY held the 1st NFT Movie Festival in Decentraland.

Attendees who were unable to reach Cannes could watch LIVE in Decentraland. The event also included speeches, workshops, networking and NFT auctions.

The 2022 Decentraland Game Jam commenced.

The Game Jam runs from May 17 till June 14.

Entries must be a Decentraland Scene with a maximum size of 4x4 parcels, that works in Decentraland without any blocking bugs.

This year, the Decentraland Foundation is partnering with MetaGameHub DAO, the organization that created the DCL-Edit tool. To encourage more creators, MetaGameHub DAO will offer their own set of rewards for entries created using DCL-Edit.
