OneLand 7-day data shows aggregate land market caps for the 10 listed metaverse projects down 2.33% to 793,750 ETH, or $1.49b (-1.84%). $ETH ended the week down just 0.42% to $1,872.48, while metaverse tokens including $SAND (-5.17%) and $MANA (-7.27%) suffered bigger losses.
Sales counts and trading volume were down for most metaverse projects this week, major exceptions being The Sandbox (+139.5%) and Decentraland (+19.7%). Trading at BYOPills, Somnium Space (-100%), Voxels (-36%) and Worldwide Webb (-51%) were all down significantly over the past 7 days, and particularly since the start of April.
It mirrored global NFT sales, which tumbled another 12%, now down by more than 50% over the past month.
The Sandbox picked up its top sale in over a year just days ahead of the official kickoff of its MegaCity3 LAND sale.
LAND #82768 passed hands for 300k $USDC, just over 160 ETH, on Apr 6, increasing its 7-day average price (+133%) and volume (+140%), but not its total land cap which fell 3.2% on the back of a lot of much cheaper sales.
Otherside also picked up a big sale, with 200 ETH for an Otherdeed its top sale in 6 weeks.

BLUR — 5.2: Blur launched its new peer-to-peer lending protocol Blend, allowing NFT owners to use NFTs as collateral to take out loans, while enabling liquidity providers to earn interest on supplied ETH.
Blur claims the “Buy now, pay later” protocol will charge no extra fees to buyer or seller. All the attention led to a dramatic launch. This cautionary tale may help guide.
SOTHEBY’S — 5.1: Auction house Sotheby’s launched an on-chain P2P secondary NFT marketplace, commencing with works from 13 artists incl. Diana Sinclair and Tyler Hobbs, followed by sales of works by a revolving rotation of artists.
In June, Sotheby’s will also launch a digital gallery via metaverse platform oncyber.

OPENSEA — 5.3: Former OpenSea manager Nate Chastain was convicted for insider trading after he used knowledge of which NFTs would be featured on OpenSea’s homepage to earn $50k+ in profits. Chastain claims he had no knowledge he violated any rules or policies.
AI <> GOOGLE — 5.3: Prominent figure in AI Geoffrey Hinton (aka The Godfather of AI) left his role at Google to speak out on the dangers of AI.
POLYGONAL MIND - 5.3: Polygonal Mind studio relaunched the first ever platform game in Decentraland, Tomb Chaser. In a new twist, the game originally built as a sacred Egyptian pyramid has transformed itself into a cyberpunk Aztec pagoda.
STRIPE — 5.4: The financial giant announced it will launch a new fiat-to-crypto on-ramp solution, making it easy for customers to purchase cryptocurrencies. Devs can embed a crypto-purchasing widget into their site or app with just 10 lines of code.
NFT WORLDS — 5.5: NFT Worlds rebranded to its new name — introducing TOPIA! — and migrated to a new contract. Topia Worlds has been airdropped to all previous NFT Worlds holders, and trading has resumed.
