BINANCE — Mar 27: Anti-crypto legislation is heating up, with the CFTC suing Binance, its CEO CZ and ex-chief compliance officer for offering unregistered securities and breaking other US laws incl. enabling US customers to trade despite a 2019 ban.
Elsewhere, Coinbase responded to its own heat from the SEC, while the US floated new tax guidance for NFTs.
TICKETMASTER — Mar 28: Ticketmaster is rolling out NFT-gated services, letting artists reward fans with presales, prime seats & exclusive concert experiences with NFTs, starting with heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold.
LEDGER — Mar 29: Ledger launched Inspired by Ledger, commissioning talented artists from diverse backgrounds and styles to create 1/1 NFTs.
DISNEY — Mar 29: The Wall Street Journal reported that Disney is abandoning its ambitions for the Metaverse as it prepares to scrap 7,000 jobs.
ETHEREUM — Mar 30: Ethereum announced April 12 for its Shanghai upgrade, when all ETH that is staked (approx. 14%) can be un-staked for the first time since Dec 2020. Will it cause a sell-off, or will HODLers stake firm? Milk Road published this user-friendly guide to the ‘Great Unstaking’.
