Coffeezilla Response to Logan Paul Apology
January 19th, 2023

Good day everyone,

I hope you are all well and had an week so far, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things crypto. Today I am following up my recent posts on the Coffeezilla and Logan Paul debacle, with Coffeezilla having released a new video last night in response to the Logan Paul apology. Below I will go through it, along with some other videos on the matter and delve into what Logan Paul really means, how he may have incriminated himself, and how things could develop from here.

CoffeeZilla Video Response to Logan Paul's Apology

The video opens in typical Coffeezilla fashion, acknowledging the apology video of Logan Paul while also "accidentally" cutting to clips from the first two videos where Logan threatened to bring a defamation lawsuit against Coffezilla. From there Coffeezilla points out how to apology video by Logan Paul was posted to his secondary channel instead of his primary one, making it less easy to locate titled "Thank You Coffeezilla."

Coffeezilla goes though the Logan video, such as how he apologised for his defamation claims and how Logan pledged about 1,000 ETH to the CryptoZoo investors and ensure the Play2Earn game is completed. However, while Coffeezilla acknowledges these as good things and a major improvement from the previous Logan Paul videos, he all calls out the issues which have been brushed over or entirely ignored as part of the redress. He breaks down what he considers to positive and the negative aspects of the video. Included in the positives is the fact that those who were fans of Logan Paul and unaffected by the CryptoZoo scandal are likely to see this as a redemption for Logan Paul and remain his fans. However Coffeezilla also feels the video was not really intended for himself or those who lost their money on CryptoZoo, instead it is for the wider public and fans. This is where Coffeezilla feels the response falls flat.

Fans Reaction on the CryptoZoo Discord & Twitter

Via the discord channel created for the CryptoZoo project, Coffeezilla was able to witness the fallout and reaction to the video amongst its users. As shown in his video above, there was a flurry of comments made following the announcement from Logan Paul, although not everyone was taking Logan's word as fact.

However, as I alluded to in the previous post Logan Paul reveals $1.3M refund program for CryptoZoo Investors not all of Logan Pauls fans were willing to believe that their beloved 'hero' could have ever intentionally scammed anyone. They applaud Logan for his attempts to refund the users and as even shown in the images below some would go as far as claiming Coffeezilla only did this to get some fame. Clearly they have not seen all the previous Coffeezilla videos where he went after other celebrities who have done similar things to their fans.

Coffeezilla goes on to point out how the gesture from Logan Paul to give 1,000 ETH back towards those impacted by the CryptoZoo fiasco is a good one, but it does not impact the entire problem. In fact, far from it. The biggest issue regarding the 1,000 ETH refund is that it does not come close to covering the losses made by investors on this project, and only those who held onto their eggs and original "base animal NFTs" are entitled to the refund, meaning anyone who sold out at a loss is out of luck. Also anybody who invested in the crypto token $Zoo will not be entitled to any sort of refund. Interestingly, on discord Logan was responding to investors and fans querying the decision with a simple screenshot of his whitepaper, where it outlined that $Zoo token was not created as an investment vehicle.

Now some will claim that if you don’t sell its not a loss, the age old saying of crypto and trading. The problem here is that the project was as good as dead prior to Coffeezilla creating his videos, and many were not willing to hold onto a project which looked to be abandoned and going to zero in terms of value. Logan’s response on discord to disgruntled fans of “when you sold or bought was not my decision” is a fair assessment of the situation, as everybody makes their own decisions on these things in life. Logan is to somewhat blame however for his promotion of the game to his fans by stating the CryptoZoo was a “fun game which could earn you money,” this money meant to be earnt through the collection of the $Zoo token.

On top of all that, it has emerged through the investigation that the team behind CryptoZoo, some of whom made a reportedly $7.7 million from their sales of $Zoo token, had a "rules for selling" of the token as part of their business planing. Within, they had agreed not to sell the tokens until a minimum of $200 million market cap, along with rules of not impacting the market price by more than 3%, or 10% in a single day. Seemingly it was only an investment vehicle for Logan Paul and his cohorts who staked up on $Zoo tokens in the very early days.

Potentially the most damming part of the entire aftermath of the apology video from Logan Paul was when he informed users on discord not to invest any further money into CryptoZoo. When users questioned him on this, Logan had a response of "not being the scapegoat for anyone's financial decisions." While this is somewhat understandable, it gives a feeling of completely going against what he stated in his apology video of intending to complete the CrytpoZoo game. Mixed messages and confusion for his fans who are expecting Logan to come good on his three step plan in the apology video.

Coffeezilla linked another video at the end of his one, as he confirmed he was now finished with the CryptoZoo saga. In this video, by Attorney Tom, where he states that they are going ahead and sueing Logan Paul and his team behind CryptoZoo for the counts of:

  • Fraud

  • Express Breach of Contract

  • Implied Breach of Contract

  • Unjust Enrichment

  • Violation of Delaware's Prohibited Trading Practices

  • Negligence

  • Fraudulent Misrepresentation

  • Conspiracy to Commit Fraud

This has come about due to two apparent clauses within the terms of service of CryptoZoo, and these could come back to haunt the CryptoZoo team. Attorney Tom is representing victims of the project, and in his video below he outlines how an Arbitration Clause and a Class Action Waiver. Basically they team had made it as part of their terms of services that anybody wishing to bring claims against the CryptoZoo team is not allowed to do so in a group action way, instead each individual must bring an individual case action against CryptoZoo.

The team at Attorney Tom is looking to bring the victims against the CryptoZoo team, and they are even prepared to take it case by case on an individual basis to get action against the CryptoZoo team. Another big factor which they are bringing up is the fact when the CryptoZoo eggs were minted for 0.1 ETH, that had a value of around $350, whereas the refund of 0.1 ETH today is only worth around $150.

The below video from Scott Shafer, which was released on the 17th of January 2023, outline some of the other issues Logan Paul could have created for himself with his videos. The focus is on how Logan could be sued for defamation, which is quite ironic seeing as that’s what he threatened to do to Coffeezilla. Within Scott goes through how Logan Paul claimed Coffeezilla failed to work in law enforcement, which Coffeezilla refuted.

Also Scott brings up how Logan Paul outed the developer he had hired, Zach Kelling, about having a criminal past. However, that crminal history was expunged and according to the state rules where it took place, that information was not public knowledge. Logan showed what was not considered public information when he put the crime, case number, the court system, and Zach’s full name, meaning he could be liable for bringing this information to light.

Where does the Project go from here?

For the remaining users of CryptoZoo there is still some light at the end of the tunnel. They should be in a position to receive their 0.1 ETH for the eggs and original NFTs which they are still in possession, although any money invested into the token $Zoo will not be refunded. While I cannot confirm or deny, I find it difficult to believe that Logan Paul and his team will actually go ahead and resolve the issues within the CryptoZoo game. Even if they do, is it too late? So many people have lost funds from investing in this, which to be fair, was their own decision. Many will scream and shout that Logan Paul convinced them to invest, but at the end of the day it was their own decision.

The issues with the actual game is the bigger problem in my opinion. If there was a functioning project, and even if the founders then abandoned it for the community to take over, at least there would be something to work with. If the game does get fixed, which should not be that difficult considering the capabilities of developers then it is a starting point. The poor art work is another thing which could do with being addressed, although that issue seems to have been ignored by Logan Paul in his videos. Whatever happens, the key take away from the interactions of Logan Paul seems to be to steer clear of this project, get your refund, and take it as a life lesson.

While the saga is over for Cofeezilla, it seems like things are just beginning to get ugly for Logan Paul and his team. Those who have invested in the project based on his promotions are out a lot of money, and now the wider public is aware it is unlikely the problems will go away. Lawyers are prepared to go at this from multiple angles and Logan may have dug himself a bigger hole with his responses. Only time will tell how this will be resolved, but its almost certain that Logan Paul and his team at CryptoZoo will have a lot of legal issues arising along the way.

Have a great day.

Peace. CryptoGod-1.
