THE HEIST ripe bargains UPDATE - Why NOT A GOOD PLACE
June 29th, 2023

Intro and personal take

The Heist rolled out many new features in the recent update, but The RIPE BARGAINS matters the most to us Chimps. It has two new items, LockPick and Lucky Lighter. LockPick boosts your STEALTH Stats while Lucky Lighter allows you to hit the 20x event. I personally love this update, there are just so many new builds that can be implemented with more traits. Obviously, the market loves it as well. NANA prices doubled after the update, and Chimp floor prices touched 20 SOL again. However, after some calculations, only one item is worthy of grabbing.

Here are some reasons

Only Chimps with 45 or more stats are allowed to participate in the new location. Meaning one can not grab a vanilla chimp and rob these items. Instead, you have to first invest in a Chimp, either via upgrades or old items, and then join the robbery.

For existing players who have invested in their Chimps already, LockPick or Lucky Lighter do not give us significant boosts in NANA. Before we grind into numbers, make sure you read my previous post about how the Simple Average method works.

The Lockpick and Stealth

For the convenience of the calculation, here I assume all items are legendary (top stats) and all three stats are upgraded to 25. This gives a chimp 40+25 in Yield, 60+25 in Luck and 25 in Stealth, in the last update. With a legendary Lockpick, we get a chip with 25+30 in stealth. So we are looking at 65 Yield, 85 Luck, and 55 Stealth. The problem is, a chimp can only equip two items. In the previous thread and article, we established that Yield and Luck stats equal to 1% profit boost, whereas 1 Stealth only equals to 1% profit boost in the Federal Reserve, but at the same time lessens the risk factor.

Sadly, even 55 Stealth cannot make Federal Reserve more favourable than the rest two locations, and 55 Stealth only boosts City Bank's profit by 33%. Hence, Duffle Bag triumphs over Lockpick.

The Lucky Lighter and the 20x event

I was not able to obtain a Lucky Lighter myself, but laterner’s screenshot has been very helpful. Here is the link to the discord message.

Essentially, what a Lucky Lighter does is subtract the points from the chances of Expected events and replace them with 20x events. It is very powerful, especially in the CityBank. If a Chimp is equipped with a 3.5 Lucky Lighter, it has a positive factor of a whopping 167.5! This is a 67.5% boost from a vanilla chimp. Countering the Duffle bag’s boost, Lucky Lighter is still 126.8% more effective than DuffleBag!

Conclusion

So yes, Lucky Lighter but no, Lockpick. However, should we participate in the RipeBargains? My answer is still a NO, but only because of the emission of NANA. There are not many NANA left for us to mine. The exhausting mining condition along with the approaching of season 2 really makes now a bad time to participate in any form of robbery. The number of items is unlimited, but there are only so many NANA. From either a long-term or very short-term perspective, mining NANA is a much better choice here.
