Gestational diabetes is actually a very common gestational disease, and its existence will make blood sugar rise and fall. Hyperglycemia will worsen the quality of blood vessels, aging the placenta early, and the baby grows large, especially in the case of macrosomia, which will increase the incidence of dystocia during delivery; Hypoglycemia will make pregnant women and fetuses suffer from transient energy deficiency of whole-body cells at the same time. Therefore, patients with pregnancy induced diabetes should be able to eat and move for the health and safety of their mother and son.

Can eat. Expectant mothers with gestational diabetes need to change three meals a day into six meals a day, that is, three meals plus three meals, while the total food intake remains unchanged. For example, if you eat a steamed bread in the morning, you will eat 2 / 3 steamed bread in the morning, and the remaining 1 / 3 will be reserved for extra meals in the morning. In addition, the time of six meals should be fixed. For example, breakfast is from 7:00 to 8:00 in the morning, extra meals are from 9:30 to 10:00 in the morning, lunch is from 11:30 to 12:30 in the afternoon, extra meals are from 15:00 to 15:30 in the afternoon, dinner is about 18:00, and extra meals before bed are about 22:00. You can make some adjustments according to your living habits, but the interval between meals should not be too short, and the eating time of each meal should not exceed 20 minutes. During the dinner, you can eat staple foods such as coarse grain rice, coarse grain steamed bread, corn and pumpkin, high-quality protein and an appropriate amount of vegetables and fruits. When adding meals, you can choose tomatoes, cucumbers, soda biscuits, whole wheat bread and low-fat or skimmed milk. Here again, we should eat less refined rice, white flour and porridge that is especially sticky, and try to eat less fruits with high sugar content, such as watermelon.

It moves. Proper exercise after meals is a good helper to control blood sugar. Resting for 5 ~ 10 minutes after dinner and walking for another 20 minutes will help maintain a stable level of blood sugar.

It should be noted that the doctor will adjust the exercise and diet plan according to the patient’s specific weight, age, nature of work, etc. Pregnant women must take diet notes every day so that they can understand their eating habits and find out the reasons for the fluctuation of blood glucose and urinary ketone.
