Questions to Free Yourself When You’re Feeling Stuck

Happiness and growth are innate to us. Our need to feel good and move ahead in life is instinctive. Yet, feeling ‘stuck’ is also one of the most natural human experiences to go through.

Everyone uses a different approach to come unstuck. In this post, I share a few questions that I ask myself every time I feel a little ‘out of sync’ with my inner self. Hope it inspires you to discover your own recipe to free yourself and feel empowered! :)

1. Have I put a condition on my happiness?

Sometimes, in pursuit of success, we unconsciously decide to not be happy unless a desired outcome occurs. But is waiting for happiness to come forth from just one channel really worth it, when the universe has so much more to offer?

2. Is my obsession with reaching my destination blurring my every-day journey?

“Joy is in the journey” may sound clichéd, but is 100% true! If you aren’t celebrating little things in life, chances are that achieving bigger things won’t give you the high you were expecting either.

You’ll be surprised how appreciating your daily life—your coffee, your baby, your pet, your partner, your clients, your hobbies, … basically anything that’s working well for you—can make you happier and more optimistic.

3. What vibes am I radiating?

Taking a moment to become conscious of one’s thoughts and feelings is one of the surest ways to take back the reigns of one’s life. If it is true that we are vibrational beings, who attract what we put forth, it makes so much sense to live more mindfully and choose our thoughts and feelings. It’s about asking oneself, “What kind of momentum am I perpetuating through my present focus”?

4. Am I arguing for my limitations?

At times when we end up in undesirable situations, it is easy to start acknowledging limitations because they seem so “real” and justified. The worst part about it is that we often end up rejecting the help available to us—just because we sound so right to ourselves in that moment. Being mindful of self-talk can help one steer clear from the rabbit-hole of arguing for limitations.

5. Can I just take a break for a while?

Taking a break doesn’t mean abandoning an issue, but letting go of the resistance around it. It is easy to become lost in problem solving, yet problems and their solutions are different frequencies. Breaks help produce shifts. Taking a nap, appreciating life, watching your breathing, meditating for the joy of it, and focusing on something completely different and unrelated—often paves the way for breakthroughs, which no amount of thinking or planning can.

Power Point

What if something that helped you get unstuck in the past isn’t working anymore? Generally, it just means that you were on a different frequency (emotional state of receptivity) in that moment than right now. It doesn’t make the questions or the techniques you used ineffective—just recognize that different solutions work for different emotional states of receptivity. Taking a break can help reset and realign oneself when nothing seems to be working.

All is well. Take it easy. :)
