Hudson Rock, a cybercrime intelligence firm, said this week that it had discovered that data on 400 million Twitter users, including private emails and associated phone numbers, was being sold on the black market. The private database contained a wealth of information, including emails and phone numbers of high-profile users such as AOC, Kevin O'Leary, Vitalik Buterin, Mark Cuban, and more.

Hudson Rock said it could not fully verify the hacker's claims given the number of accounts, but said "independent verification of the data itself appears to be legitimate". Web3 security firm DeFiYield looked at 1,000 sample accounts provided by the hackers and verified that the data was "authentic." It also contacted the hackers via Telegram, noting that they are actively waiting for a buyer.
