Integration of Wormhole Connect into the Martian Wallet
June 4th, 2023

We are pleased to announce that Martian Wallet is integrating with Wormhole Connect to offer users seamless integration between wallets. Wormhole Connect is a bridge widget that simplifies integration with the broader Wormhole network and allows users to exchange tokens and receive liquidity from other networks without having to leave Martian Wallet.

About Martian Wallet

Martian Wallet stands out as a self-storage wallet for the Sui and Aptos blockchains. Designed with a combination of native integrations and a user-friendly interface, it is suitable for both new and experienced web3 users who want to explore the Sui and Aptos ecosystems. With Martian as the leading Sui wallet, users can securely transfer tokens, manage their NFTs, place bets, exchange tokens, and even introduce their own cryptocurrency - all within the same wallet. Given the social aspect of web3, Martian allows users to link their Twitter accounts to their blockchain addresses. This integration paves the way for unique peer-to-peer transactions on Twitter, where users can send tokens or NFTs with a simple tweet. In addition, projects have the opportunity to launch Twitter campaigns, rewarding members of their community based on their interaction with specific tweets. At Martian Wallet (for Sui and Aptos), we are constantly looking for innovative solutions that improve the user experience on the Aptos and Sui blockchains. We strive to stay ahead of the rapidly evolving crypto landscape by introducing features that simplify transactions and increase user engagement. We are focused on implementing inventive strategies and cutting-edge concepts such as account abstraction and social recovery to deliver a superior experience for our users. With the integration of Wormhole Connect, we are one step closer to this goal.

Integration of Wormhole Connect

Wormhole, an inter-network messaging protocol, is integrated into our Martian wallet, Sui Wallet. It connects to more than 20 leading blockchain ecosystems, making it a trusted choice for teams like Circle and Uniswap, as well as other cross-chain applications. To date, Wormhole has facilitated the transfer of over $35 billion in value.
The addition of Wormhole Connect to our wallet extends functionality and improves the user experience by offering a connection (bridge) to liquidity across all major chains, without the need to switch from the Martian wallet. This seamless cross-chain functionality not only enriches the user experience, but also contributes to the growth of our product and community.
This integration means that Martian Wallet users now have the ability to transfer assets and liquidity between the supported networks (Sui and Aptos). All this can be done with just a few clicks in the wallet itself. This new feature is a significant addition to the recently launched Sui and Aptos blockchains, giving users even more flexibility and accessibility in their cryptocurrency transactions.

Why we integrated Wormhole Connect

We are constantly striving to improve the user experience and flexibility of our platform. By helping our users transfer liquidity from other networks, we aim to improve their overall network experience. Wormhole Connect provides several benefits that align with our goals:

  • Native fund transfer experience: Funds transfer has become a natural part of our user experience, eliminating the need for redirects to external bridges.

  • Simplified payment for gas: Users automatically switch to a new chain with their own gas

  • Customizable source and destination resources: We can create permission lists for the chains and assets we want to support Other developers interested in integrating Wormhole Connect can check out the documentation at wormhole.com/connect or contact the Wormhole team.
