Last year we organized 3 events with our community. A Web3 retreat in Slovenia and in Greece and the first NFT dinner in Slovenia. Through all those events we managed to create IRL momentum and enabled meaningful connections between the participants and the local community in the periphery. It’s now time for the next step.

All together, we issued 23 POAPs to all of our event participants last year. But it felt like something was missing to connect the community more. To feel a bigger sense of belonging.

One of our goals of every event was also to test and implement Web3 technology in the travel sector.   

That’s why our next step is to launch an NFT membership for our community and start experimenting with the DAO model of organization (starting just with the O first). 

These NFTs represent a new way to engage with our community of travelers and connect them with peripheral communities around the world for greater impact.

Our first step was launching a DAO on the Polygon blockchain using the Qvrse.io platform, launched by one of our members. In the beginning, we launched 4 governance tokens for 4 founding members of the community which will for now be the ones to decide the future of the community.

Going forward, we minted 50 free NFTs which represent membership in the FromZero community - Batch 0. These are intended for all the participants who have been present on our events (SLO retreat, NFT Dinner, Leros retreat) and those interested in joining the community. The link will be shared from us only in our Discord server and our official social media.

What does the NFT membership grant?

• Priority access to future events organized by FromZero or its partners (the first one is happening in June in Slovenia)

• Access to gated content in the Discord server

• Ability to organize events independently under the FromZero brand (franchise)

Our goal is to lean more and more on decentralization and autonomy in the near future and to give all members the opportunity to participate in the next steps of our development. We will also be adding more benefits and perks after we identify what would be valuable and useful to our members. 

In order to enable a community reputation model, we will also measure the number of participations in our events as well as other forms of contribution to the community (working for the community, helping to organise events, supporting local communities, etc.).

For those who are not part of Batch 0 at this stage and will not receive an NFT, they will be able to buy their NFT membership at a later stage of our development, when we are ready to let more people into the community and develop more benefits for its members. We want the community to remain boutique and aligned with our values. To this end, we will invite all potential new members to an introductory call, before allowing them to purchase membership.

As mentioned, this for us represents a new way of experimenting with Web3 tooling to better cater to our community and the travel sector in the periphery, the latter being our core mission.
