Polygon Labs has announced version 6 of its digital identity solution Polygon ID. The highlight of this release is the first implementation of dynamic credentials, a W3C specification that allows users to automatically refresh expired credentials from their wallet. The implementation of dynamic credentials includes the integration of new services on the issuer node, and the implementation of the refresh protocol on mobile and js-sdk.
This new feature brings many benefits to many use cases: 1. Issuers can create new business models based on recurring revenue through short-term vouchers (since refreshes can be charged). 2. Polygon ID can support truly compatible KYC/AML credentials and provide the best user experience - KYC credential issuers can issue short-term credentials and only need to perform AML checks on each refresh. 3. Users can have "permanent" credentials that are always valid and up-to-date. 4. Polygon ID supports unstable data that needs to be constantly refreshed, just like a credit score. For validators, this means that they are basically "subscribing" to the user data stream.
