Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said in an interview with Bloomberg that the company would “welcome” an exchange-traded fund (ETF) based on XRP. On February 20, Garlinghouse shared the company’s stance on a potential XRP ETF. The CEO stressed that they would "definitely welcome it". The emergence of multiple ETFs around different tokens is inevitable, and it is expected that the field will see the emergence of ETFs around a combination of multiple tokens, which will "diversify risks" for investors.
When asked whether Ripple is currently in talks with ETF issuers, the CEO declined to comment. However, Garlinghouse reiterated the company's stance: "We think this makes sense for the XRP community as a whole." The Ripple executive also talked about the "long-term view." Garlinghouse believes that the purpose of digital assets is to create utility and solve real-world problems. He explained that Bitcoin does a great job as a store of value. Garlinghouse, on the other hand, believes that XRP is “ideal for payments.”
