The second Shanxi Red Cross emergency rescue competition was successfully held

From October 18 to 20, the “second Shanxi Red Cross Emergency Rescue Competition” was held in Taiyuan, supported by the special lottery public welfare fund of the provincial finance Central Committee - China welfare lottery and China sports lottery, hosted by Shanxi Red Cross Society and hosted by Shanxi Red Cross social work service center. 15 teams from the Red Cross Societies of 11 cities in the province and in the fields of subway, school and fire control participated in the competition. The general knowledge and concept of first aid were disseminated to more people through webcast at the finals, and the click through rate of webcast reached 148000 people.

The purpose of this competition is to show the achievements of the Red Cross emergency rescue training in Shanxi Province in recent years, test the quality of emergency rescue training, publicize and advocate the new social civilization trend of “everyone learns first aid and you can do it”, create the brand of “Red Cross rescue around”, and constantly improve the popularity of emergency rescue knowledge among the people of Shanxi Province, Improve the public’s skills in disaster prevention and risk avoidance, self rescue and mutual rescue in Shanxi Province, enhance the emergency response ability in case of public safety emergencies, and promote the development of emergency rescue work in Shanxi Province.

At the event site, the bright red cross logo was shining, and the theme of “care for life, save around” could be seen everywhere. The competition is divided into two parts: semi-finals and finals, including theoretical questions and scene rescue questions respectively, covering the knowledge of Red Cross movement, first aid theoretical knowledge and actual first aid drill operation. Each team consists of five contestants, all of whom are red cross rescuers selected through level by level competitions. In the theoretical competition, the contestants competed with each other and answered each other like a stream. In the actual first aid drill operation, the contestants fully demonstrated their good psychological quality, solid rescue skills, rapid on-site response ability and good spirit of fighting bravely.

After a fierce competition on October 19, the top six teams in total, including Yangquan Red Cross Society, Taiyuan fire rescue team, Jincheng Red Cross Society, Taiyuan Red Cross Society, Taiyuan China railway track company and Shanxi Institute of industry and commerce, entered the finals. In the final on October 20, the representative team of Taiyuan Red Cross Society won the championship with excellent rescue skills and on-the-spot response, the representative team of Jincheng Red Cross Society and Taiyuan fire rescue detachment won the second prize, and the representative team of Yangquan Red Cross Society, Taiyuan China railway track company, Shanxi Academy of industry and commerce, Datong Red Cross Society and Taiyuan health school won the third prize, Seven teams including the Jinzhong red cross team won the excellent organization award respectively, the Taiyuan and Jincheng red cross teams won the best organization award, and 30 team members including Li Lei won the first, second and third individual awards respectively.

It is understood that over the years, as a social relief group engaged in humanitarian work, the Red Cross Societies at all levels in the province, with the strong support of the China Red Cross Society, the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, and with the support of the special lottery public welfare fund project of the provincial finance central committee, have vigorously promoted the knowledge of emergency rescue into organs, enterprises, communities, rural areas and schools, It has carried out extensive emergency rescue training in high-risk industries such as coal, transportation, electric power, railway and fire protection, as well as citizens and volunteers, with a total number of more than 4 million people. It has taken the initiative to undertake practical projects for the people’s livelihood of the provincial government, in scenic spots, sports venues, transportation hubs, schools 1023 sets of first-aid equipment automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) are equipped in cultural places and other crowded public places in the province, and more than 1200 sets have been invested in the province. Since the launch of the AED project in public places with dense flow of people in the province in 2020, three patients have been successfully rescued through AED in one year, which has achieved remarkable results and is very popular. Since 2017, with the support of the special lottery public welfare fund project of the provincial finance central committee, 180000 qualified Red Cross nurses have been trained.
