Web3 needs our Feynman
February 27th, 2023

Web3 heralds a glorious new era of privacy, transparency and freedom.

But there’s just one tiny problem — it’s fucking incomprehensible.

Go ahead and try to excite your family or friends about danksharding an SDK proof of burn hyperledger with a parachain slot auction.

That, of course, makes zero sense — but that’s also how things that do make sense in web3 sound to 99.999999% of humanity.

Serious question: if you had to learn ancient Phoenician to understand the greatest revolution of your life-time, would you do it?

Probably not.

By the way, check out the About Us section of this awesome new liquid staking dapp:

I know, I know -- blockchain technology is complex. But inspiring people with the promise and purpose of web3 doesn’t need to be.

It starts with a radical commitment to simplicity.

That means clear concepts.

Comprehensible words.

As little jargon as humanly possible.

Whatever can be explained without an acronym, must be.

F.F.S.N.A. (For Fuck’s Sake No Acronyms)!

N.Y.N.H.E.E.F.I.I.I. (Now You Know How Everyone Else Feels, Infuriating Isn’t It)?

Here’s a simple suggestion: if you’re anywhere except a blockchain developer hackathon, presume you’re speaking about web3 with your toddler or great-grandparent.

Fear not — this is no way degrades the beautiful complexity of web3.

Bottom line: web3 needs our Richard Feynman — someone who brilliantly breaks-down incredibly complicated science and math into language that the rest of the world can grasp and love.

And we need him fast.

To spread the revolution to the masses, we must first make the revolution comprehensible.

To this end, Sepana is announcing the creation of D.A.L.E. -- Decentralized Awards for Legendary Explanations. The awards, as you likely guessed, are named after Dale Carnegie, probably the greatest communicator in history.

If you explain web3 terms and technologies in ways that are absolutely clear and understandable to anyone other than Vitalik (preferably a child or octogenarian), you may just win a D.A.L.E.

Is it ironic that our award is an acronym after we demanded that you stop using acronyms? Yes, we contain multitudes.

But please — for the love of web3 — just remember the golden rule: Keep it Simple Satoshi.

The revolution will be understood!
