Letter from Copariot Labs

Dear Explorers, Navigators, Traders, and Pirates of PicWe:

Ahoy there!

Welcome to the frontier. You stand at an adventure that has been the stuff of legends since the Age of Exploration. Generations have dreamed of the chance to seek, discover, and boldly challenge the unknown. But today, unlike those explorers of old, you don’t need a starship, a ship, or even a compass. All it takes is a wallet, and you are instantly transformed into a voyager unlike any other, navigating and shaping the boundless High Seas of blockchain—a vast, uncharted realm where new frontiers await.

Congratulations—your journey begins now.

In The Martian, Mark Watney humorously references “maritime law,” explaining that no nation can claim sovereignty over Mars, making it “international territory.” In a sense, Watney becomes a “pirate” in space, using NASA’s resources without permission to survive. This quirky example might make us wonder: is this kind of rogue behavior legal? But zoom out, and we see that humanity’s history of exploration has often followed a similar pattern—when groups venture into new territories, something in our very DNA awakens. That “pirate spirit” drives us to break boundaries and carve out new frontiers. Take 1620, for example—when a group of Pilgrims landed in the Americas and found that the Virginia Colony was outside their control. To settle the matter, they signed the Mayflower Compact, which became a cornerstone of American democracy. And in the late 19th century, during the Westward Expansion, settlers rushed to claim unassigned lands in the infamous Oklahoma Land Rush, marking a new chapter in the story of exploration.

Blockchain began as an idealistic vision of decentralization—Bitcoin as a peer-to-peer network and Ethereum as a platform for decentralized applications. However, over time, Web3 has veered towards centralized solutions like exchanges, bot and bridge solutions, moving away from the promise of true DeFi. Rather than bringing unity, we’ve fragmented the blockchain into isolated ecosystems, preventing liquidity from flowing freely. Now, with PicWe’s Omni-chain Protocol, we aim to go beyond the activities that would only divide the blockchain’s High Seas—activities that future generations might admire. Such an approach would trap society in an endless cycle of 'exploration-discovery-occupation-plunder-wealth-decline-seeking new opportunities,' a cycle humanity has seen too many times. Our mission is to break this cycle and build something truly sustainable.

Looking ahead, when interstellar colonization becomes a reality, that same "pirate" instinct within us may resurface. However, this time, instead of simply conquering and claiming new territories, we must focus on creating an entirely new form of social organization—one that embraces collaboration rather than conquest. Such a system of consensus may never have existed before in human history, yet it’s exactly what we need to navigate the vastness of the universe. After all, space is the final frontier, the last piece of the puzzle humanity has yet to explore.

PicWe is set to lead the charge into the Web3 Omni-chain Asset Revolution, a revolution that will not only reshape liquidity but also introduce the next generation of DeFi 2.0. What we are building today is not just infrastructure; it’s the foundation for a new decentralized society, one where anyone, anywhere can participate. The blockchain’s High Seas is more than a social experiment—it is a shared space where every participant is actively shaping the new societal framework. Our hesitation to begin the age of interstellar colonization is rooted in our fear of confronting that deep-seated “pirate” instinct. Yet, once we unlock the true potential of the High Seas, we can confidently take the final step in completing the blockchain puzzle, boldly sailing toward the last uncharted frontier of humanity.

This is a conversation that has been ongoing in the Bitcoin forums for years—the quest for a solution to humanity’s challenges. Copariot Labs’ founding members came together in 2014, united by the hope of contributing to that solution. Since then, we've been part of the Web3 movement from its early days, working hard to build, adapt, and learn, while always staying grounded in the core principles of decentralization. We spent 18 months focused on making blockchain technology genuinely "useful," and through this effort, we managed to address the long-standing issue of trust, ultimately helping to create the world’s largest lending protocol.

Over the past 11 years, Copariot Labs has faced numerous challenges and learned many valuable lessons. At one point, we overestimated the speed of blockchain's development and placed our full trust in SocialFi as the vehicle for mass adoption. We committed two years to this belief, only to realize we were mistaken. However, as staunch advocates of decentralization, we have always remained true to our core principles. During key events like EOS and Sushi, we stood firm alongside many of our early partners, never retreating from the foundational values of the blockchain world. It was through these experiences that we came to understand: liquidity is the most fundamental layer of consensus in this ecosystem. It is, in fact, the foundation that enables everything else to unfold.

And now, we’re calling on all of you—seasoned adventurers and fresh faces alike—to join us in building the blockchain High Seas. PicWe isn’t just about seamless, Omni-chain swaps; it’s about exploring a new form of human consensus.

To all the explorers, navigators, traders, and pirates, thank you for being part of this journey. As the Doc document reminds us, "The ocean belongs to all, and the treasure goes to the pioneers."

To boldly go where no one has gone before.

Live Long and Prosper.

We wish you fair winds and a prosperous journey.

Yours,

Copariot Labs
