Clef steps in within the music department of the web3 space. This is a movement and a game that builds DeFi and breeding mechanics for NFT music. We are launching Mixing for you to be involved in the music creation of a new generation.

This article explains the roles of melodies and mixing in Clef as well as covers the pricing mechanism. It also outlines the initial how-to-play and a roadmap for further development.

Melodies

Clef is designed to bring engaging gameplay and utility to NFT music. The core game element is a melody. We call them Clef songs. Melodies in Clef are generated by our smart algorithm and have a signature electronic sounding. Any player owning a Clef song can rest assured that their ownership is secured by blockchain. Music enthusiasts can examine each melody deeper by exploring its DNA.

Each Clef melody is a combination of various music elements such as chords, rhythm, beat, instruments. Key, scale and tempo are added for integrity. This complex combination works its magic toward our signature recognisable sounding.

Mixing

At launch we start with Clef Mixing: combining melodies with each other to create new ones. This is your way to multiply your melody collection count and build advanced sounding to your melodies.

Mixing is implemented as breeding mechanics. When two melodies are mixed in Clef, their music elements are mixed as well into a brand new melody. Mixing is available for any of the two melodies from your wallet.

Pricing

For mixing we provide 2 payment options

1. Pay the base price. Base price is the price of issuing a new melody. It serves to regulate the amount of melodies issued in the game. The new mix is added to the wallet and parent melodies are kept. Total output: three melodies.

2. Burn the parent melodies. This is the option to issue a new melody at a discounted rate, i.e. by giving in parent melodies. The mix is deposited to your wallet, parent melodies are burnt. Total output: one melody.

In order to make your first mix, you need to have at least two melodies in your Waves wallet. We have prepared a set of 15 genesis melodies that will be made available for purchase at Puzzle Market on the day of the launch. 10 copies of each genesis melody will be issued for sale.

Promotions

To support the Genesis melody sale, a set of base price promotions will accompany the launch.

1. Launch day. Incremental pricing mechanism will be deployed for the first day of sales. You will get a chance to receive up to 70% discount on base price mixing.

2. First week. 50% off mixing to try the game.

3. Personal discounts up to 100% are to be granted to the most active early players.

Major development steps are

1. Compose - a tool to generate your own NFT song. Players will be able to mint separate music elements and combine them in the interface.

2. ILO - token will be launched on WX launchpad in December.

3. Charts - players can release their songs to charts, where all songs compete with each other for the top of the chart.

4. Rewards distribution - top chart songs participate in rewards distribution

   Other development vectors include:

• Sharing - making Clef songs shareable directly from the game interface

• Jackpot samples - introducing special Clef songs with unique set of music elements for special occasions, e.g. music artists integrations

• Packages - introducing sets of game elements to play the game in the guided way and possible subscriptions

• Rarity - based on song composition by elements, songs will be attributed rarity

• Integration of music artists - getting musicians to interact with and contribute to Clef
