We have heard quite a bit of chatter about Spread on Buffer:
Here’s some insights that might help you understand - how competitive our spread really is:
On October 17th, BTC rallied up by 2000 USD in a span of 15 mins as a result of an incorrect BTC ETF news report, the spread on Buffer trailed to a higher side based on this event, and trailed down by the same value in 15 minutes as the market corrected itself.
This period might have led to a few assumptions about spread not being competitive on Buffer. However, contrary to this, the spread you see on the trade page, is the max value applied. Actual spread at any given time is relatively low depending on the hv (historical volatility), and oi (open interest).
Also here’s a cool fact: slippage is NOT applied on top of spread, instead slippage on Buffer accounts for spread.
Perps are coming to Buffer, despite the intern’s natural instinct to divulge more information, the intern will exhibit discipline and let the details roll out as they are meant to be!
