As you may have seen, our Opensea trading volume and floor price have increased a lot, along with the Grant and support from BNB Chain, the Puff community is growing stronger and catching everyone’s eyes. As we are growing, many scammers may take advantage of our users and we will try our best to prevent such things from happening. We need to stick together and fight the scams.
Please be aware of any scams and keep your asset safe.
Please check and be sure the links, the publishing platforms, and the MOD account are all officials before connecting your wallet to the site for airdrop or free mint.
Please don’t click on any links nor provide your private key from any personal or bot DM.

On Nov 7th, we detected suspicious behaviors that are stealing and encroaching on our previous permanent DC link to scam the users which affected all platforms that were using the previous link. Sincerely apologize if it caused trouble.
All the related users have been contacted and compromised using our own operation funds because it actually affected users who enter through our official website, we’ve upgraded the settings and made sure certain things won’t be happening again.
The matter was counted on us, so we fully take responsibility. There were 3 users who lost their ETH accordingly, with overall 5 ETH more in volume. We’ve already sent all the funds back to their new wallets.

Another thing that happened on Nov 7th was related to one of our MODs hired from the community, her Discord account was hacked by others and changed to the name Taru who is our Discord head manager, which caused a lot of trouble in our community, including deleting channels and scamming for Puff Genesis. This is a typical scam across Discord.
Please always be cautious when you click some unknown links and especially when it needs you to connect your wallet, even if it’s from your own family and friends because it’s hard to prevent account hacks. Again, please note that the ONLY DOMAIN that we will ask you guys to connect your wallets is puffverse.pro, please make sure you are on the right website.
We’ve done certain things to make sure the community goes back to normal:
1/ Recreated all the channels with content.
2/ In the process of rearranging MOD’s shift and making sure each shift can be filled with 2 MOD at least to better monitor each other.
3/ All MODs are required to F2A
4/ The scammer got 15 Puff Genesis on Ethereum (from 3 users) and dumped them in the market which caused a decrease in floor price. To protect the market and our dear users, we swept 15 Puff Genesis at the floor price to bring the floor back again.

It’s not likely we can do a full compensation for the scam link cost since the account hacks of MODs are common for Discord, and this is a common scam in Web 3. Unfortunately, we can’t prevent things like account hacks and scam links from happening again but we can remind the users to be aware of the scam links again and again. Unlike the above full-refund permanent link attack, no one can prevent such scams from happening again. Many Web 3 projects including BAYC have faced this situation, and we all know scammers can always find a way to dig. The only thing we can do is to remind users 10 million times about not connecting their wallets to an unknown website.
Once and once again, please always be cautious when you click some unknown links and especially when it needs you to connect your wallet. However, we are also a caring community and know that snapshot is around the corner (That was about 12 hours before the snapshot). So we contacted the involved users to discuss a way out to help reduce the damage cost. But there won’t be full compensation, and there will also not be any compensation for future scam-related losses, because this will intensify the situation, that we can’t distinguish if it’s a real scam loss or self-acted, and we don’t want to encourage it. As a result, we bought some Puff Genesis on the market and gifted them to the users involved before the snapshots.

One of the users said as a joke that only the good ones got hacked. Well…Jokes aside, we need to protect our users at any cost. We know that as we are growing stronger, this is inevitable. So let’s protect and build the Puffverse together, by knowing when you shouldn’t connect your wallet, being familiar with all the typical scams, and reminding others of the suspicious behaviors.
