After a successful testnet phase where we onboarded over 25 million wallets and battle-tested the Hybrid L2, we’re moving into a new chapter.
Hybrid initially set out to build its own Layer 2 network to power AI agent infrastructure from the ground up. However, as the product evolved, so did our understanding of what’s actually needed to deliver value to users.
We’ve decided to sunset the Hybrid L2 and instead double down on building real, usable products — particularly around agents in DeFi, real-time automation, and smart infrastructure. This shift allows us to reduce ecosystem complexity and better focus on what truly matters.
Why This Makes Sense
Our upcoming AI Agent Funds are based on Hyperliquid, with deposits and withdrawals routed via Arbitrum.
Integrity Nodes, which play a critical role in compute and verification, are now minted and run on Arbitrum.
The unified data layer and our developer tools are already being integrated into external chains and applications.
By narrowing our scope, we avoid unnecessary overhead and stay focused on delivering tangible outcomes for builders, developers, and users.
What Happens Next
The Hybrid L2 RPC has been taken offline. No new smart contracts can be deployed, and the chain will no longer receive support.
This doesn’t change the vision — just the execution. Hybrid’s Integrity Nodes, unified data layer, developer SDKs, and AI agent tooling remain intact and moving forward.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the testnet. You helped shape the direction we’re taking today.
