**Police: **“Shouldn’t the person who did this go to jail?”
Taylor “Schabusiness” Coronado:* “Oh f*ck yeah.”*
Below you’ll see Lights Out podcast hosts discuss the gruesome and nauseating details of Taylor Coronado – Lady Dahmer, the man-eating, meth-injecting, murdering mistress of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Listen with caution as it will send the same chill down your spine as the grizzly investigation and reveal of Jeffrey Dahmer’s cannibal cave in Milwaukee, WI.
The further bizarre details of Ms. Coronado, or Schabusiness’s case includes the location of the murder of Shad Thyrion – Green Bay, Wisconsin, less than two hours from where Dahmer dismembered his victims thirty years ago. It is said that Coronado emulated Dahmer’s cannibalistic cuttings, although this is speculation and does not explain the entirety of her motive.
Mephistophelean Methamphetamine Makes Maneater a Murderer?
“She wasn’t in the right frame of mind.”
No sh*t, Sherlock!
Substance abuse plays a vital role in many brutal slayings, serial killings, crimes of passion, etc. Ted Bundy drank heavily before his dark actions. Richard Ramirez is said to have abused cocaine while he lurked, lured and killed. Ms. Coronado had THC, trazodone and methamphetamine in her system and was supposedly high when she strangled Mr. Thyrion to death. Methamphetamine is one hell of a drug – it is Satan incarnate. The effects of methamphetamine, particularly on traumatized and severely mentally ill people is incredibly dangerous. Meth psychosis is real and this devilish drug can turn someone with a predisposition for mental illness and continued use into zombie-like individuals suffering with delusions, paranoid thinking, hallucinations and even fighting invisible monsters. Meth is a highly stimulating drug and causes sleep deprivation. Without sleep for days, the brain is not able to properly regulate one’s behavior and emotions.
At the sentencing, Judge Tom Walsh spoke about the effects of methamphetamine abuse on our communities. The aftereffects of methamphetamine abuse by individuals with mental illness and childhood trauma is significantly dangerous and needs to be addressed in an effective manner. Unfortunately, there are cracks and holes in the system and as Judge Walsh said, parents need to take responsibility for getting their children the right treatment for their mental illness.
Traumatized Teenaged Taylor’s Tragedy
Dr. Diane Lytton, forensic psychologist, evaluated Taylor Coronado’s records – school records as well as the records from her inpatient psychiatric stays as an adolescent. Dr. Lytton found Ms. Coronado incompetent due to mental defect – in particular, a psychotic disorder and bipolar 1 disorder. Taylor visited Bellin Health inpatient psychiatric hospital at least once as a teenager. As Dr. Lytton testified, Ms. Coronado was diagnosed with thought disturbance, bipolar 1, depression with psychotic features by age 14. Whoa! Dr. Lytton stated that Taylor’s case was incredibly severe -one of the most severe cases of a psychotic individual that she had ever seen in her 32 years of practice.
Due to the possibility of Taylor Coronado’s actions being fueled by drugs, she is ineligible for an insanity plea and is now in prison for life. Hopefully, the correctional system will take Dr. Lytton’s recommendation seriously and study Ms. Coronado’s unique, disturbing and rare case of a young, feared female human-butcher. Brain imaging and neuropsychological assessment will help further our understanding of these gruesome crimes and the devastating effects of developmental trauma and severe substance abuse on the developing brain.
Taylor Coronado is a young woman with severe mental illness that she has struggled with since at least adolescence. She did not take her medications and did not participate in treatments, which is a likely result of her tumultuous upbringing and precarious mental state. In addition, I suspect that her father, a convicted child sex abuser, likely groomed his daughter, setting her up for a trajectory of victimization that would lead to her homicidal behavior. While I’m not blaming Arturo Coronado for Taylor Coronado’s abysmal actions, he likely perpetrated on his daughter and neglected to tend to her psychological needs during her psychotic episodes, as identified by the trial.
Final Soapbox Thoughts
Methamphetamine abuse in our communities isn’t discussed enough. The effects of sexual abuse on women’s criminal involvement isn’t researched enough. We can keep locking up these deranged killers, but we also need to be studying them in ethical and effective ways. The interest in cases like Taylor Coronado and her awful killing and dismemberment of Shad Thyrion is emblazoned in our consciousness like Jeffrey Dahmer. The difference is, she is a young woman, making her sexual deviancy and gory actions even the more sinister and scintillating. I hope we take this morbid interest and use our analyses for good!
