Grop Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture, President and CEO: Ryuichiro Harada) has produced a new TV commercial, "Grop Serendipity," to celebrate its 50th anniversary. This commercial will feature popular actor Haruna Kawaguchi and will begin airing nationwide from Tuesday, December 24, 2024 . In addition, Rio Asumi has been appointed as the commercial song, and the song with English lyrics, the first of its kind, is also a highlight.
Grop Co., Ltd. has proposed a variety of work styles and career possibilities, and has supported people to take the next step with confidence. The new TV commercial that will be aired will convey the importance of taking on challenges through Haruna Kawaguchi's positive expression. In addition, the song "GROP ~GROWUP~ English ver." sung by Rio Asumi with English lyrics will make the commercial even more impressive.
The commercial begins with Mr. Kawaguchi walking through an exotic town, and progresses through his journey by changing vehicles such as bicycles, cars, planes, and ships. The final scene in the spaceship where he smiles and says, "I see, Grop!" is memorable. By employing the latest technology, ``virtual production,'' which combines CG and reality, spectacular visual expressions have been realized.
Q. Please tell us your thoughts after filming the commercial. Please let us know if there are any other memorable scenes.
A. It was a really spectacular shoot that used CG and was fun. The large LCD screen of the photographic equipment is impressive. Since the characters are set to be riding various vehicles, I'm looking forward to seeing how the commercial will come out by combining the scenes of the town.
Q. In the commercial, Kawaguchi-san rides around in various vehicles such as cars, airplanes, and boats, and I heard that you yourself are a car enthusiast. Please let us know if you have any favorite driving courses or places you have fond memories of.
A.My hometown is a countryside and an island rich in nature, but when I return home, I like to rent a car and drive along the coast or drive for about an hour to the mountains I want to go to. It's refreshing to drive without making any plans. I often go for drives with family and friends.
Q. Grop is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Mr. Kawaguchi has a long way to go before he turns 50, but if there is anything you would like to do before you turn 50, please let us know.
A.I really like traveling, so I would like to go to places I haven't been to or see scenery I've never seen before, including overseas. I've never been to Northern Europe, so I want to go there. The scenery is spectacular and beautiful, and I like saunas, so I'd like to experience an authentic sauna in Finland.
Q. Grop provides opportunities for many people to try new careers through temporary staffing. Kawaguchi-san, do you have any other occupations other than acting that you would like to have?
A.I wanted to be a daycare worker until I started this job. All of my family members worked in the welfare field, so I watched them work closely, and from a young age I thought children were cute, and I remember taking care of a baby with the whole family when I was in elementary school. There is also. When I was in elementary school, my dream for the future was to be a daycare worker, and even now as an adult, I still feel the difficulty and fun of working in the welfare field, so I think it's a very interesting job.
****Q. When you look back at 2024, what comes to mind when you express it in one kanji? ****
A. It's a "relationship." I once again feel that this is a job where you meet different people in different environments every time, and form connections through relationships. I'm very grateful to be here today because of my relationship with Mr. Grop, and the older I get, the more important it is to meet people. I chose this kanji because I once again felt that the works I appear in are also made possible by connections.
Q. Lastly, please give a message to everyone who will watch this commercial.
A. Through this commercial, I hope everyone will enjoy their new days together. If you try something new, you are sure to have a great future ahead of you. Let's start a new day together!
Rio Asumi, a former top star of the Takarazuka Revue, will be composing the song for this commercial. "GROP ~GROWUP~ English ver.", which is sung with English lyrics for the first time, is a song that makes you feel hope for the future and the courage to take on challenges.
On set, it was impressive to see Mr. Kawaguchi taking on the challenge of shooting CG while communicating carefully with the director and staff. There were many situations where he gave the OK immediately, and all the staff were impressed by his professional attitude. The shooting took place in a relaxed atmosphere from start to finish, with the participants enjoying friendly conversations between shots.
