“Amazon Hometown Tax” Starts
Supporting local communities with Amazon! “Hometown Tax” has become even easier and more familiar
Amazon (located in Meguro-ku, Tokyo) has launched a new service, ``Amazon Hometown Tax'', with the aim of revitalizing local communities and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises across Japan. This service leverages Amazon's familiar platform to make hometown tax donations easier and more convenient. Customers can use their existing Amazon account to make a donation process just like any other purchase. In addition, some gift items can be delivered the next day at the earliest, and we also have a wide variety of gift items available only on Amazon, promoting support for communities across Japan . This service will be gradually available to some users from December 19th.
Approximately 1,000 local governments from 47 prefectures nationwide are participating in the "Amazon Hometown Tax" campaign, and more than 300,000 return gifts have been received. We plan to further expand our product lineup in the future, and will continue to communicate the charms of even more diverse regions.
By leveraging the over 25 fulfillment centers and over 65 delivery stations that Amazon has built across the country, we are now able to quickly deliver return gifts. You can check the eligible products on the "Return Gift Special Feature with Next Day Delivery at the earliest" page.
Taking advantage of the local characteristics, such as the right to participate in a concert to support the reconstruction of Nanao City and Noto Town, Ishikawa Prefecture, which were damaged by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake and record heavy rains, Hasami-yaki mugs with the Amazon logo, and Anker limited design mobile batteries.
