The Issue

Talent is equally distributed, but opportunity is not. Only 2.8% of music producers, 14% of songwriters, and 14% of execs in the music industry are women. Women need champions, support systems, and resources in order to make their voices heard.

As a label, Nvak Collective is dedicated to creating a more diverse and equitable music industry by signing & developing women, non-binary, and LGBTQ+ artists from emerging markets. Our roster includes artists from around the world, including Armenia, Lebanon, and the United States.

We were thrilled to learn about the partnership between Decent.xyz and Link3 to spotlight creators’ stories. With this in mind, we’re highlighting a shining star on Nvak Collective’s roster - Lebanese artist, songwriter, producer, and classically-trained guitarist, Talia Lahoud.

Talia Lahoud

At just 20 years old, Talia Lahoud beams with inspiring intensity out of Batroun, Lebanon. With evocative, soaring vocals, and a trilingual ability to write and perform in English, Arabic, and French, Talia brings a brand-new sound to the global music scene.

Talia debuted her artist project in 2021 with a cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”, which peaked at #1 on the Top Pop Chart and #5 on the Top Anghami Chart. It was the #1 most downloaded International Song on Anghami on October 9th with nearly 2M streams to date. Her next single “Shway Shway”, an original Arabic song produced by Nvak’s co-founder, Alex Salibian, debuted #1 on 5 Apple Music Playlists, including Arabic Pop Essentials and New Artists: Middle East.

Following a viral Tik Tok (18M views), Talia dropped a cover of “Love Story” which has become her best-performing song in the U.S. In December she was able to perform it live at the MENA Tik Tok conference.

Her latest track, an Arabic ballad titled “Iyam Tamouz” was released on May 5, 2023, which landed Talia on the cover of Spotify’s “Fresh Sharqi” playlist.

Talia Lahoud x Web3 Music

Talia Lahoud has been educating herself on web3 and blockchain technologies over the last few months, fascinated with the space’s ability to enable more meaningful connections with fans and greater extensions of her artwork.

Just beginning her journey into Web3 Music, Talia Lahoud is set to drop her first music NFT in June 2023. She has already established a community through the use of tool sets like Discord and POAPs, and you’ll find her speaking on Twitter Spaces and learning more about the space each and every day.
