We have received the fund from the loan from 1kx, Gitcoin grant, and the MetaCartel grant! We have paid our first batch of contributors! (See the details in the Team Funding Round Link above) If you want to follow the multisig and WGMIcommunity.ETH you can do so on Zapper.fi

Coordinape Epoch #11 11 Epochs down! We’ve added some new faces to the circle this month (Some of them snuck in right as the epoch ended! :)

Currently the results of our Coordinape Epochs are being collected to be used to track contributions in lieu of a token. Once there is a token we will use Coordinape as the primary (not only) rubric for how to allocate tokens to those early contributors.

We will have more community-wide training on how WGMI will use Coordinape coming soon this month!

Beautiful isn't it?

Community Member Highlight

OOPS#0420 (Interviewed by Manbirmarwah)

  1. How would you introduce yourself, where are you from, and how’ve you been doing?
    1. I am Oops and I’m a community manager, discord wizard, and creator putting the we in web3.
  2. What brought you to WGMI.community?
    1. Matt & I had previously had some twitter back and forth conversation. When he tweeted about creating a group for community managers to gather I believe I was one of the first ones to jump on board. I set up the initial framework for the discord server and started inviting knowledgeable people in with the goal of creating a CM helping CM environment. What has since grown out of that has become a lot more, and watching the WGMI grow out of such a simple idea has been amazing to see.
  3. What’s one thing about WGMI that makes it stand out?
    1. The overall context of WGMI is that people are helping in their free time to educate others and set up the standards for training a Web3 community manager. The community is happy to share their knowledge, which is not unique but is certainly special. As this continues to grow, I believe WGMI can become a pillar of the project deployment toolkit when people are looking to take their steps into web3.
  4. What are you contributing to at WGMI and what would you suggest to someone who’s new to the community?
    1. I tend to float and help when I find something that I can do. That is also the advice I would give to anyone else that is looking to help. Find a niche, fill a niche. In my case my niche was setting up discord communities, bots, and contributing during calls and bigger picture discussions. I also occasionally host workshops or prep out tutorials for others in the community.
  5. What else are you working on?
    1. One of my favorite side projects right now is traveling around to various crypto-events as a POAP ambassador sharing NFTs as on-chain memories with people. When people go to events, I hope that they keep their eyes out for the Pikachu walking around handing out POAP stickers.
  6. What would you do with a dozen BAYCs (or any NFT bag of your choice)?
    1. Well, hopefully I like them and would actually want to keep them and use them for something. Otherwise I would likely sell them and get things I would enjoy using. I’m not much of a speculatoooor. But honestly who knows..
  7. What are some of your favorite accounts on Twitter and why is WGMI.community on #1?
    1. CT is a dumpster fire but I love it (sometimes).
  8. What’s the most understood thing about community building?
    1. At this point I think everyone understands that eventually, this will be world changing. They also understand that we are early and it’s going to be messy.
  9. What’s one thing you wish everyone building a community knew?
    1. There is value in the long term of favoring quality>quantity when building a community. Numbers aren’t everything (and are also misleading).
  10. What’s one question you wish I’d asked, and how would you have answered?
    1. Why prioritize free distribution - because it’s the best onboarding tool to bring people into the space at low/no risk creating the best environment for learning.
  11. Anything else you want the people at home to know?
    1. I am a free distribution maximalist

Catch you on the flip-side WGMI! Until then, keep putting the WE in web3!
