What's AltLayer?
A platform designed to allow application developers to launch highly scalable & disposable optimistic rollup-like execution layers. It can be seen as a system of many individual optimistic rollups, where each rollup is tailored to a specific application.
AltLayer is designed for a multi-chain and a multi-VM world and therefore will have default support for EVM as well as WASM. AltLayer will not be tied to a single L1 or L2 but can operate as a modular and pluggable scaling solution for all EVM and WASM compatible chains.
The Team
The AltLayer project is led by Dr. Yaoqi Jia, former director of Parity Asia and co-founder/CTO of Zilliqa. The team consists of blockchain veterans and award-winning researchers, who previously worked at Parity, Zilliqa, and Synthetix.
AltLayer raises $7.2M
AltLayer has announced that we have closed a $7.2 million seed round led by Polychain Capital together with Breyer Capital and Jump Crypto.

Former Coinbase CTO and a16z GP Balaji Srinivasan, Circle co-founder and USDC architect Sean Neville, Ethereum co-founder and CEO of Parity Technologies Gavin Wood, Messari founder Ryan Selkis, Synthetix co-founders Kain Warwick and many more are taking part.
AltLayer OG Badge NFT Drop
There will be a total of 1000 OG Badges and 400 of them have already been minted and distributed and the remaining 600 OG Badges will be reserved for future distribution Collection on OS / Floor 1.18 $ETH atm
Purpose of OG Badges
The OG Badge holders will be provided tickets to our future events and will have exclusive access to the internal team via a private Discord group. They will also be assigned an OG tag on Discord that they could flaunt to other community members.
Speculation
As you can see in the above screenshot from their medium there will be non-NFT #Airdrops. According to the roadmap, Mainnet will come in Q4 2022 and a native token is expected.
