Hello World: Provenance.

Gm. This is an experiment.

It’s an attempt to disrupt the current approach to collections and community. It could be a spectacular success, or a flaming failure. If you have an appetite for risk, and a curious mind, this may be for you.

I’ve spent the past 400 days deeply embedded in this space. Plenty of brilliant friends made and fruitful partnerships forged. Yet, nowhere to confidently call home.

This, to me, boils down to the double-edged sword that is “web3”.

Communities are open door, formed based on a tradeable, and usually speculative, token. Brought together in the hope that a particular collection may perform well, or return adequate value to holder.

When this happens, communities thrive.

When this fails, however, communities erode.

So then, how would the opposite look?

A token that was bound to your wallet and unsellable.

A collective that promised you nil, and expected members to add value.

A space built simply for conversation, among hand selected participants, who share your keen interest in web3, and appreciation for collecting and innovation.

This, perhaps, is a place where a true and forever community could bloom.

Provenance is a “web2.5” membership, bridging mechanics of traditional membership with emerging and bleeding edge technology. Starting, sensibly, with our proprietary soulbound ERC-721 issuance.

There is no floor price to follow. The community is built entirely around thoughtful conversation, enthusiast collecting, and member contribution.

Anything else is a surprise, but expect nil. Understand, this is a playground. A place to enjoy dialogue, test preeminent concepts, and tinker with the very bleeding edge.

A regular cadence of updates are to come. Applications to open shortly also.
