The Glyph

Onchain Stories.

*When I refer to Ethereum, I always mean Ethereum and its wider superchain ecosystem including the various L2s and applications.

In Interstellar, Cooper (the protagonist) jumps through time in the final tesseract scene, accessing infinite time and space. Similar to the concept of time in Interstellar, there is only one linear immutable timeline on Ethereum. Exploring and traversing this timeline will unlock understanding of user behaviors and the provenance of assets pinned on it. A source of truth. A time machine.

The Glyph is a video series, farcaster channel, and collection of essays dedicated to uncovering the dynamic world of Ethereum and the superchain through a narrative approach focused on onchain analytics and data. Ultimately the goal is to emphasize the unique and powerful features of crypto and to teach viewers and readers how to appreciate them. Show why crypto needs to be seen and understood, not buried behind abstractions.

Weak technologies adapt to the world as it currently exists. Strong technologies adapt the world to themselves. Progress depends on strong technologies. Your thumbs will learn. - Chris Dixon

The core concept of the video series is to reveal the immutable hidden stories that surface by exploring onchain transactions. Each episode will focus on tracing transactions using block explorers to weave together stories and reveal compelling narratives that not only educate but also captivate the audience. The series aims to bring to light the intricate social graph and attached pseudonymous sovereign identities that are inherent in the provenance of Ethereum assets.

What sets The Glyph apart is its foundation on absolute truths and undeniable data. This approach offers a new perspective on storytelling within the crypto space, making complex concepts accessible and engaging to a wider audience (albeit still a crypto native audience for now). The series will also serve as an educational resource for those interested in the inner workings of Ethereum and the concept of provenance. I anticipate that the series will not only educate but also inspire viewers to explore this fascinating world that intersects finance, art, collectors, tech, provenance, social graphs, and identity.

Who should watch.

If you’re a general crypto enthusiast, a newcomer curious about the Ethereum ecosystem, or someone intrigued by the intersection of crypto and storytelling, this series is for you. Expect to be educated, inspired, and enticed. You might also find some alpha.
