Game of life

I’ve come across various life lessons in life through word of mouth, few experiences and few yet to encounter. I believe I’m a student of this game of life as it teaches me along the way. They say one should read to expand knowledge and write to structure thoughts. I hope to write about few of those from the top of my head which should help assimilate their meaning to me.

Ignorance is bliss

I heard from somewhere on the internet that BLISS means Beautiful Ladies in Short Shorts, lol. Anyways, I heard this quote first from my cousin when we were talking about the existence of God. I believe in scientific facts and arguments, thats when he said this quote adding that sometimes you just need not think too much to live a certain way or do things you like.

This stuck with me and I thought about how I am applying this to other things in my life as well. Uncertainty is certain, when I think about it I get worked up. It gives a push to act on the thing, but also stresses me out. Ignorance in appropriate amount, not worrying or overthinking is fine I guess. But what is ‘appropriate’? It’s like Chef Dhamu saying ‘Add required amount of spices’ instead of telling how much exactly in his cooking show.

One extreme case for this would be Kanye West’s lyric, what’s worse the pain or the hangover. Ignorance gives a temporary relief, but I should always be mindful about this. There are few things I can’t control and few which definitely I can influence. There’s this saying a ‘Butterly flaps it’s wings in Africa and it causes a hurricane in Chicago’. This is also known as Butterfly effect. Technically we can affect any situation, but let’s not think too much.

Barnum effect

It’s believing that things are meant for you.
