$LENS AIRDROP GUIDE
December 26th, 2024

GM, the long-awaited $LENS airdrop footsteps started to arrive with Lens' tweet on 18 December.

In this guide, you will be able to find out which tools we can use very quickly and how we can increase our chances of receiving the airdrop and the amount.

Firstly, what is Lens Network (aka Lens Protocol)?

According to their own official definition; the Lens Network is a decentralized Layer 2 infrastructure designed for scalable social spaces, addressing issues of censorship, data ownership, and monetization. Built on zkSync’s ZK Stack, it aims to empower users with control over their social capital and identity.

Lens Protocol is basically a social graph. In Lens, you keep your profile, followers and content in your own wallet, giving you full access and ownership. Lens Protocol, which started as an idea to solve the main problems (ownership rights, censorship, restricted monetisation) in Web2 central social media, announced the 2nd version on 2023 November. Everyone is now waiting for the 3rd version Lens Network and $LENS airdrop.

What are the reliable applications developed on the Lens?

The application Hey (formerly Lenster), which was first developed as its own basic Web version. Hey's official site:

Due to the airdrop news, there are a lot of fake sites going around, please do not connect wallets to fake links, double check.

The first mobile application developed on Lens was Phaver. Known for dominating the entire Lens ecosystem for a long time, Phaver's mobile application will cease development in January 2025 and will be closed to access. The $SOCIAL token will now continue with the community through the DAO model and a new AI-based application.

ORB is a mobile application where the user interface differs from standard social media applications, where content producers can easily use tools such as mint & tip, and I personally do not like the interface design and user experience. You can download it for free from the App and Play Store. I can already tell you that it has a lot of bugs.

In this airdrop process, we will focus on the Hey app. If you want to discover other Lens apps, you can check them out here.

What do you need to do to be part of $LENS airdrop?

  • Having a Lens profile is the first requirement. If you have not mint Lens handle before, you can urgently mint it here for $10 with a credit card or 8 $POL with a crypto wallet. If you already have a profile, I think there is no harm in buying 1-2 more.

  • After minting our profile, the first step we will do is to go to Hey.xyz, connect your wallet, which has the Lens profile, and give the required permissions. On the first screen, on the right side, we mint the Hey NFT worth 5 $WMATIC by clicking the button that says “Mint now”. If you don’t see this screen, you can collect this post.

  • We need to complete the missing parts related to the profile at the bottom year from the ‘Update profile now’ or ‘Edit profile’ section by coming to the profile. These are simple:

    • Set profile name

    • Set profile bio

    • Set your avatar

    • Set your email address

    • Select account interests

  • Once you have completed these, you can make your first post. Be organic and don't tag everyone, Lens has a very heavy BOT Detection system, we fought with it a lot in time. If you are detected as a bot once, you have to pay the network fees yourself to share your post, it is almost impossible to get it back. I think it is important that you post at least 2 posts a day, 5-6 hours apart.

  • Organically follow important names in the Lens ecosystem such as dollowen | volkankorkmaz | heathley | stani | carla | saska. But please do not follow everyone in a spammy way because there are daily limits. You can organically follow 40-50 accounts daily. Try to interact in the comments under the posts of these people. Don't just write gm, try ‘gm, can you take a look at this topic?’ or ‘gm, I agree with you, how do you think about this?’ comments that you can get a response such as comments are important. Interacting with accounts with visibility in a way that is not spam, rather than accounts with few followers, can affect your overall score.

  • Retweet is Mirror in Lens ecosystem. As you can mirror the content you like normally, you can make a ‘quote post’ by writing something. Mirror the content you like in a way that will not be spam, 3-4 a day is not bad.

One of the other important issues is to leave and receive $BONSAI tips. Firstly, I leave the $BONSAI token Coingecko link so that you do not get fake tokens. I say get at least $10 worth of $BONSAI tokens from Uniswap. We're gonna burn some of these. Come to dollowen | heathley | volkankorkmaz | or your friend's profile of important people in Lens. You will see a token icon in their posts. Click on this icon, select Other in the window that opens and donate at least $0.1-$0.2 worth of $BONSAI, I would say do this 7-8 times a day. You can also do it between you and your friends. But the most important criterion is that it has to be organic. In other words, I think it can be an important criterion that you are tipped in the same way you are tipped.

  • Another topic is to create ‘collectible’ Lens posts. After preparing your content in your next post, click on the shopping bag icon under the post menu and activate the ‘Enable Collect’ section. Then you can make your content ‘collectible’ by making a setting similar to the one below, you can write the amount you want. You can increase interaction by collecting each other's content with your friends.

In the section so far, we have basically talked about the tasks that can be done every day. To summarise, follow until the official airdrop announcement comes, share content every 5-6 hours daily, tip $BONSAI and try to collect it, share collectible content with $BONSAI and collect shared cheap content.

In this guide, we focused on the Hey application, but I recommend you to try at least 3-4 applications, it is important to log in and share posts from those applications.

BONUS

  • I personally think that having $BONSAI and $ZK in the wallet can be beneficial, so I keep some of both in my wallet. There is no need to reduce the amount we will receive or be eliminated for unnecessary reasons.

  • If you have donated to Hey (Lenster) in one of the rounds opened in Gitcoin in the past, this may return as a bonus.

  • Claim $GRASS, the Lens testnet token, to the wallet with your Lens profile in it.

  • You can check the overall status of your profile on Hey's analytics page.

  • Go to lenscan.io, Lens's official browser, and type your Lens profile name in the search field at the top right without lens at the end. It takes a long time to load, but when it loads, it will bring you a score called Lens Score, this score can be up to 9999, the higher your score, the better. My score is 9992. One of the ways to increase this score is organic usage and organic interaction. Let me give you a tip, you can also increase this score over time by unfollowing inactive users.

I do not know exactly how this score is calculated, and it is probably not the main criterion, but it is one of the available and powerful data.

  • You can access the Hey scores of the company called Stack here and see where you rank. Since this score is calculated according to interaction, it may have an impact on airdrop distribution.

  • Go to this Dune analysis page prepared by Lens. If you do not have a Dune account, you need to sign up. Then write your name in the Handle section on the left side, press the Run button at the top right and wait for the results, it is very very slow to load, it works problematic on mobile. Here you can see all your metrics. The better these metrics are, the more likely you are to get a better airdrop.

My personal opinion:

  • In the airdrop distribution, profiles before Lens became public, can get more token. As you know, for a long time, Lens profiles could only be minted by WL and then by invitation. Also, for distribution, a calculation can be made based on organic interactions.

  • In general, a distribution can be made based on metrics such as profile creation date, total number of interactions received, total number of posts, total number of comments, etc.
