We're thrilled to launch #HackWithHaLo for the 2024 hackathon season! Inspired by our experience at ETHIstanbul where teams using HaLo secure chips clinched finalist spots, we're eager to see more innovative HaLo-integrated projects reach the top. To support this, we're offering HaLo dev kits free to hackathon participants throughout the year.

Our experience at ETHIstanbul, our first hackathon, was enlightening: we distributed 1,500 HaLo dev kits, and 16 teams integrated our chips into their projects. Two of these teams impressively secured spots among the Top 10 event finalists, an incredible achievement! With the amazing projects we saw as a result of ETHIstanbul, we’re expanding access to HaLo chips to all hackathon participants this year to push the boundaries of leveraging secure chips onchain.
The projects we saw at ETHIstanbul were not only innovative but also demonstrated the transformative potential of HaLo chips. They ranged from re-envisioning daily interactions to reinventing business processes, showcasing the endless possibilities when creativity meets cutting-edge tech. Here are some of the most notable examples:
TapTrust (⭐ Top 10 Finalist): Revolutionized event engagement with HaLo-powered ERC-4337 accounts.
Buddy-Guard (⭐ Top 10 Finalist): Enhanced user safety by allowing tracking of companions.
Cattestation: Turned local cat encounters into on-chain ‘pet’ attestations and NFTs.
Degen Drink: Used HaLo in bracelets for crypto-based payments in crafted cocktails.
PePay: Simplified crypto transactions, replacing traditional Point of Sale systems.
DeDe: Applied HaLo in logistics for verifying courier locations.
These projects highlight the unique and diverse applications of HaLo chips, from minting NFTs with just a tap to integrating chips as signers for account abstraction schemes and creating EAS-compatible attestations.
As we look forward to the 2024 hackathon season, we can’t wait to see more innovative applications of HaLo chips. Every hackathon presents a distinctive opportunity to explore the limits of secure chip technology, and we invite you to join us on this journey. What will you #HackWithHaLo? ⚫🛠️
