Atticc Community Update #6

It’s been a while since our last update, the Atticc team has been busy with many things!

🫂 Community

New Community Moderator KiKu

Recently we onboarded KiKu, a new moderator for our community on Telegram. KiKu brings community moderation experience from ComingChat, another Web3 social project. His relevant experience will sure serve our community well! Many of you probably have already enjoyed his help. KiKu will coordinate with Sani to cover 24hrs of the day so that you will get the help you need whenever you need it. Let’s welcome KiKu and wish him success in this new role! 👏

2565 Passes Staked

Since the staking of Atticc Early Adopter Pass went live just over 10 days ago, 1694 owners have staked 2565 passes as we speak. This is quite phenomenal considering most NFT collections don’t even have as many as 1694 owners! Make sure you join our mini celebration event on Galxe if you haven’t noticed. ATT$503k have been allocated so far for the future airdrop. LFG!

Public Beta Launch

The biggest event by far since our last update has got to be the public beta launch. We were lucky to have the support of our partners who helped make our launch a huge success. We reached our all time high of 300k total users and 60k daily active users within just 1 month of opening to the public.

Special thanks to our partners who supported our launch:

POAP Directory Listing

We love POAP and user profiles on Atticc are a great way to showcase the POAPs you got. Now all POAP users have a chance to discover the new utility from Atticc. Find us in the POAP Directory.

Quality Filter

With increased traffic comes increased spam. Before we opened up to the public we had fewer users, but higher quality content. Atticc was small but cozy. Now we have all kinds of users coming here for all kinds of purposes. We love our new friends, but content recommendation and moderation are starting to become a necessity.

As a first step, we added a Quality Filter to prioritize content from ENS and Unstoppable Domains owners. ENS and UD are treasured assets of their owners, which come with a cost to obtain. This is a crypto native way of taking advantage of the transparent nature of onchain assets owned by onchain identities.

However this is only a first step and a short term solution. In order to improve both the production and the recommendation of quality content, the following steps must be taken as well:

  1. Transition from Facebook style posts to forum style posts to encourage more thoughtful and meaningful content.

  2. Incentives, including token rewards for quality content and engagement.

  3. Ranking of posts not just by time posted but other qualitative metrics such as number of likes, reposts, comments, views, clicks etc.

  4. Intelligent recommendation algorithms so that you see content most relevant to you.

  5. Mechanisms to stop bots from posting.

As you can imagine the above will take time to be implemented gradually. But we are on our way!

Atticc Early Adopter Pass Staking

This has been the most important feature in the making, and we are glad the go-live was smooth and without major issues.

The beauty of crypto is in aligning the incentives of the builders, the investors and the community. By allowing early adopters to stake their pass and earn towards a future token airdrop, we hope to ‘filter out’ our true supporters and turn them into our biggest advocates, who will then get the biggest reward.

Atticc.nft on Opera Web3 Browsers

We were invited by Unstoppable Domains to take advantage of our atticc.nft domain and make it a new way to access our app from Opera browsers. This was a small but nonetheless interesting use case of a Web3 domain name. We hope to see Web3 domains being more widely adopted to give the archaic .com a run for their money.

🔜 Coming Up Next

The increased traffic from opening up to the public is challenging both the performance and the content recommendation and moderation capabilities of our app. You may expect continuous improvement regarding app performance and content related features in the near term.
