Back to the grind before the year ends Optimists and I’ve got some nice updates over the past week. Let us get into it.

1. Clipper introduces “Clipper Army” Season1

2. Decent Superchain commemorative NFT mint.

Decent launched a commemorative NFT to celebrate The Future is The Superchain on Optimism.

Optimism is building the Superchain, focusing on collaboration over competition in the open-source OP stack. You can be part of this collaborative on-chain history by minting here. You can Collect the NFT with any token in your wallet!

3. Mode introduces the Cooperative Game Theory

Mode, as a part of the OP Superchain, is working on the Onchain Cooperative. They aim to create new economic systems for human coordination, moving away from individualistic and competitive approaches. They draw inspiration from Cooperative Game Theory, particularly the Shapley value, to fairly reward contributors in the Web3 space.

The Shapley value considers the marginal contributions of users, encouraging collaboration. The article raises challenges in implementing this theory in blockchain, such as defining the game, deterministic vs. randomized computation, and preventing Sybil attacks. Despite challenges, Shapley values offer a promising way to distribute rewards and foster collaboration in blockchain protocols.

4. Mode DeFi Degen Hack (Update)

Hackathon submissions for the Mode DeFi Degen Hackathon are closed, and it's time to vote! 🟡

With 53 projects on @devpost and 18 on @jokerace_xyz, participants showcased innovation. Community voting for special prizes—Most Degen and Degen Charmer—is live until January 2nd.

6. Lisk joins the Optimism SuperChain

Lisk, a pioneer in blockchain accessibility since 2016, is making a strategic move by integrating with the Ethereum ecosystem as Layer 2 (L2). Leveraging Optimism’s OP Stack and Gelato’s Rollup, Lisk focuses on real-world solutions in Emerging Markets. As the first L1 to commit to Optimism’s Superchain, Lisk emphasizes a shift from sidechains to L2 on Ethereum.

Testnet

The Lisk L2 testnet will deploy in Q1 2024, with a developer launch in Q2 and a mainnet launch later. Collaborating with Gelato, Lisk plans a production-ready L2 supporting various use cases. The move to Ethereum opens avenues for liquidity, token accessibility, and collaboration within the DeFi ecosystem.

L1 Decentralization

For the Lisk L1, the foundation is working towards transitioning it into a community-driven project, supporting the Moosty team for the next two years. Validators in the current Lisk v4 network will see changes, with the role ceasing to exist in L2. However, a DAO with a significant treasury and an LSK staking program will be introduced, with plans for decentralized sequencing in the future.

Community Benefits and Incentivization

The transition to L2 aims to benefit developers, users, and token holders by inheriting Ethereum's security, accessing cheaper transactions, and utilizing existing EVM-based resources. Lisk, as part of the Superchain, aligns with a collective vision for decentralized blockspace.

Additionally, the migration presents numerous benefits, including participation in the Ethereum DeFi ecosystem, a staking program, on-chain governance, and airdrop incentives for user adoption on the Lisk L2. The transition also offers flexibility for grant project participants, with options to migrate to Lisk L2 or stay on the community-driven L1.

7. Mirror introduces protocol reward

Mirror introduces Protocol Rewards, a feature that lets you earn rewards for publishing and collecting your favorite articles on Mirror, making your web3 collection behavior akin to the "likes" on traditional social networks.

Now, participants in Mirror's Writing NFTs ecosystem can enjoy benefits through the following reward types:

• Creator Reward: 0.000276 ETH for creators when their entry is minted as a free Writing NFT.

8. Layer2DAO X Rivo partnership.

Layer2DAO has partnered with Rivo.xyz, a DeFi platform merging a multichain smart-contract wallet with a DeFi marketplace.

The collaboration offers L2StateOfMind NFT holders exclusive access to cross-chain yield opportunities. To participate, follow specific steps such as;

Clique OP red wars is still on and event 1 has been extended following recent upgrades to the protocols UX; the new deadline for event 1 is the 27th of December.

• Unlimited attestation updates for increased score multiplier.

• Improved scoring sums amounts across protocols.

• Batch claim all attestations at once with a 3x attestation fee and triple update multiplier.

• Ongoing backend enhancements for a smoother user experience.
