Linea is moving towards decentralization and continues to grow, becoming the first zkEVM Layer 2 to adopt the EIP-3668 standard, realizing the vision of operating ENS with lower gas costs and improved interoperability.
Users can switch their wallet address to a human-readable domain, while developers can use CCIP Read (ERC-3668) for cross-chain data retrieval.
ENS names in Linea use the format name.linea.eth, rather than name.eth in the Ethereum Mainnet.
Proof of Humanity (PoH) users can now register (https://support.linea.build/general/ens) a free and easy to remember domain name. It can be minted for 3 years, and only costs a multi-transaction fee of $0.12.
You will be able to renew your domain for another three years once there are less than 3 months left before expiration, provided that your account is still under PoH. There is also a three-month grace period after expiration during which no one else can take the domain and you can return it.
