碗, Symbol for AI-free Writing

To indicate that writing is free from AI-generated text, use the Japanese kanji 碗, meaning ‘porcelain bowl’ or ‘teacup’.

I’ve adopted this symbol because it gestures toward artistic endeavour on a human scale: bowls are integral to the art of kintsugi, ‘golden joinery’, which is an apt description of how writing works; and teacups are linked to the wabi-sabi aesthetic, which calls for an appreciation of the beauty found in imperfection.

Paste 碗 at the bottom of a piece that contains no input from artificial intelligence, but instead is born of singular human creativity, to let readers know.
