Hey everyone 👋
We’ve just wrapped up ETHOnline 2024, our flagship annual hackathon and the largest event of the year so far. This year marked the fifth anniversary of ETHOnline, and it was an incredible celebration of the Ethereum community’s innovation, collaboration, and growth.
ETHOnline 2024 brought together a staggering 1,590 developers from 92 countries across 26 time zones. With 417 projects submitted and over $225,000 in prizes, this hackathon showcased the cutting-edge of what’s possible with Ethereum.

Five years later, ETHOnline continues to be the forum for deep discussions on the future of Ethereum, our industry, and how we can keep moving forward.
On August 23rd, we officially kicked off the event with logistics and an overview of the ways in which Ethereum is having an impact on people’s lives around the world.

Several key themes emerged from the ETHOnline 2024 project submissions, best exemplified by our finalists:
Hypertui embodied the push for better developer tools, enabling devs to easily query and analyze on-chain data. AuthWallet 2.5 also fell in this category, simplifying wallet UX with Web2 primitives.
OnlyCars and Membrane Finance innovated in DeFi and payments. OnlyCars enables a decentralized EV charging network with crypto, while Membrane Finance allows cross-chain lending with Ethereum NFT collateral.
Eros, SignCast and Viral.games represented the rise of social and gaming applications. Eros provides privacy-focused dating, SignCast enables exclusive content monetization, and Viral.games gamifies viral predictions.
Capture the Prompt addressed privacy and security, gamifying AI prompt robustness.
